| This has been a busy time these last couple of weeks. Up until about two weeks ago things had been rather slow personally. Though I still don't have much in the way of a "personal" life and there doesn't seem to be much change in that regard in the wind. I have once again decided to try to get out a little more. It's not that I want to stay at home all the time it is just that I am easily able to entertain my self. So unless I make a point to go out I can find that weeks go by where I haven't gone out at all. A co-worker and I went together this season to get season tickets to the repertory theater. We trade off shows that one or the other specifically want to see or if we are both particularly interested we go together. So a couple of weeks ago I got a chance to go w/ my friend Andy to see the production of "The Triumph of Love" by Pierre Carlet de Chamblian de Marivaux an 18th Century farce only recently translated into English. This is a play that was funny, poignant and a little sad. Some of my co-workers had also seen the play and we spent several lunch periods discussing Though Andy and I didn't do anything other than see the play it was a good chance to get together again. He has been pretty much incommunicado for the last year or so. The boy friend he had then was quite controlling and jellous. Now that he is out of that relationship he is getting back into circulation. I really missed him while he was in seclusion and look forward to spending time together again. The previous weekend was the first time we really had a chance to talk about what has been going on in each of our lives since his seclusion started. He had invited me over to his house for the evening. For what I first thought was to be a party but in fact turned out to be a quiet evening of conversation. It was a great time and chance to catch up. It was a nice surprise when both Charles and Alma stopped by for a while. It was like old times. We four used to spend quite a bit of time together. It was a reminder of what good times we used to have and hopefully a harbinger of times to come. ciao |
