| Back to what has been currently going on. So after Andy and I saw the play he asked if I would house sit for him in a couple of weeks. He had to go to Ohio for a busness trip and wanted someone to keep an eye on his place. I told him I would be happy to. Though I would continue to work while there that it would be like a mini vacation. It would be nice to just get out of my normal ruteen. It was also a plus that he lives in a quieter part of the city and has a lovely view from his balcony. I live on the fifth floor of a high rise and though the city scape out my window was nice it would be nice to sit outside and just enjoy the view of nature out of his place. So last week that is pretty much what I did. He has a decidedly larger place than I do. Though it is still an apartment it makes mine look quite small in comparison. I took off Monday and Tuesday to run some arrends and spent the rest of the week after work just relaxing at his place. The vast majarity of the time I spent out on the balcony ready. I even took all of my meals out there. I can't remember the last time I spent that much time outdoors. Though I really enjoyed my time at his place. I was ready to head home once he returned from his trip. No matter how compfortable it may be at someonele's place it can't replace home. And now finally to this weekend. It is Saturday afternoon and I am home as you can see just typing away on the computer. Well I packed in enough on Friday night to last the whole weekend. The whole evening was spent with David. The original plan was just to go to the symphony. I had gotten tickets to hear Maulers second and was orignally really looking forward to the evening but earlier in the week I decided to listen to it while at work to get a feel for what to expect. To put it simply I was underwelmed by it. I just didn't like it and found it quite boring. This didn't bode well for Friday night. But since I had already issued the invitation I knew I was going to go anyway. Though I didn't like the symphone on disk I know that I often fould my self enjoying music I wouldn't normally carefor once I heard it played live right in front of me and I knew that just by going w/ David the evening couldn't be a total waste. David ended up calling me during the day to say that his earlier plans had gotten canceled and wanted to know if I would be interested in going to dinner befor we went to the symphony. I said sure. We decided to try out this place we had talked about going to that we used to pass on a regular basis when we used to have season tickets a couple of years ago. He called and made reservations and we went to Zin. In upscale trindy place in the ____________ district. The setting was very elegant and the menu was very entreging. I was at first tempted to go with getting a stake but in the end decided to try a duck dish that look good. David couldn't remember having lamb before and decided to go with that. I also decided that it being a festeve occasion I would try a new drink. I seldom dring alcahal maby three or four times a year but I had just read a book where the central carrictor always drank a drink called Ker and wanted to try it out for myself so I orded that instead of my usual dry martini. When the drinks arrived I was very impress and decided that this would be my new favorate drink. |
