UPDATES
April 27, 1999 I thought I'd update my condition for those of you that want to know. So far... I have not started treatments for the HCV because the cost is too high for me. Allen and I have filed for divorce and I have applied for SSI... should know soon if I get it. I feel like the past year I have hit rock bottom... but once you hit bottom you have nowhere to go but up... so up I go. All my friends have helped me deal with the deck I have been dealt... and I know that without them I couldn't be as strong as I am. My Father in Heaven has also been a constant source of strength and my faith in Him continues to be strong.
November 2000 My hep went into self- remission sometime in April of this year. Once again I have to start my life over from scratch due to a bad choice in men but ya'll know drags... she keeps on going... and I will thanks to my son and his family. And all my friends!
February 11, 2001 I have learned something new about Hep C I didn't know before. Apparently the liver is one of the organs that produces glucosamine and apparently mine has been damaged to the point where the production is either slowed or stopped. I am now extremely Hypoglycemic(low blood sugar)... to the point where my blood sugar has fallen to 63 which meant a trip to the emergency room. I drink a lot of cokes and eat tons of chocolate... so far the only thing that really keeps the sugar up there. I am working at a different wal-mart now and have made even more new friends... other than that nothing much has changed. Thank you snuggleman for all you are.
March 23, 2002 I started the Hep C treatments 7/17/01 and will be on them till 7/02... at this point I have 3 months to go. I've lost quite a bit of hair and the treatments have caused some dental problems too. Since Christmas I have been having a hard time keeping anything on my tummy... the doc even put me on baby food. So far i have lost 40 pounds & I'm still losing. I go to the Raphael Clinic in Kerrville... they don't charge anything for meds or labwork... its all free. I was really blessed to be in an area where they have such a place. The treatments consists of Intron A shots 3 times a week and 5 Ribavirin pills every day. The shots I do in my tummy... gives a new meaning to body piercing... doesn't it? At first I was a little freaked because I am needle phobic... but the needle is so small so its not bad.
