The importance of the arts in schools is becoming more and more evident. In the news, we know test scores are being the litmus test for passing to the next grade level or graduating high school. It is important that kids do well in school in all subjects especially reading, math and language arts. Here is one way to make that happen . . . It has been proven for some time now that students who have at least one year of the arts will increase in their test scores. Multiple studies have proven it (see studies). This page is about advocating what we, as parents, teachers, administrators, friends of the arts/schools/children can do to keep the arts in schools. In addition, we need to increase our numbers of music and art teachers in the schools to full-time status not-itinerant (or part-time). This is equivalent to getting part-time art or music. Our kids deserve better. The children of our grandchildren will judge us what we do today for education. What are you doing today to make education everything it can be? More than you know! Read more about it and find out. Voting. Voicing. Validating. Volunteering. You name it. And that's just starting with the letter "V"! LOL Thanks for visiting this page. You will find useful information in many ways to support the arts. But more importantly, you will discover how the arts support the education of your children in so many ways. Any support you can give to the arts in our community can only benefit us all! I humbly and graciously thank you for your patronage . . . ~Robin Addison |
