| Before you see, you feel the pain Not quite sure what was your bane Vision blurry, you begin to gaze Seeing stars through much haze The veil of day has turned to night And hinders already troubled sight In your car strapped to your seat At least you landed on your feet The car is damaged beyond repair As you sit in pain and stare Though your sight and mind be dim You find you have control of limb So you move out from the car Through the smashed door ajar And balance upon your wobbly feet Onto a most turmoiled street Debris and death are all around But seems the panic went abound To other areas down the way And disappeared with the day Cautiously you start to tread Full of thoughts of drear and dread Corpses decorate the street As you move about their feet A shiver down your spine is sent As you pass one gory gent For a hand clasps about your shoe And does hold on tight and true You gaze down now much afright Are horrified then with the sight Half his face whence is gone And putrid flesh he does don A zombie must it surely be Like such a thing was reality! Feverishly, you shake his grasp As your breath is lost in gasp You run into the nearest store And close behind a sturdy door You turn and through the window stare To see if you were followed there And so the zombie did awake And steps abroad began to take But toward you it did not go For where you went it did not know And others after also stirred As your mind reeled and whirred Scared to move or even breathe And of your watch never leave But then came an irksome noise That caught you from your guarded poise Something near within the store Was God knows what of creep and gore Now carefully some steps to take Is now a choice you must make: |
