Too dark it is inside this place
Away from here you must race
You take your luck upon the street
Moving now with cautious feet
The woken zombies moved away
Leaving you your chance to stray
Though many bodies were there still
Undisturbed with unknown will
So you keep your path aspace
With tension written on your face
Quickly you move aside
On open street nowhere to hide
You make your way back to your house
Fleeing now as timid mouse
A zombie or two you close evade
And assure yourself you have it made
Until you find at your driveway
A sight to bring your much dismay
5 zombies lurk about the yard
Making entry rather hard
It seems your dog provided food
For this gruesome undead brood
Naught is left but go next door
And make around this bloody gore
So you pass behind the fence
Feeling now not as tense
Thinking you could give the slip
Steering now a steady ship
So you round then to the back
Feeling sharp now as a tack
Hop the fence and land real soft
Like your shoes are cloud aloft
Then you head to your back door
To seek shelter much looked for

Once inside, key in palm
Now you're feeling much more calm
Check the windows one and all
So your safety will not fall
Then you remember of your sword
A handy thing rest assured
Your arm yourself with the blade
Now you surely have it made!

You sit inside and watch the news
Trying to uncover clues
Seems these zombies are widespread
Endless goes their trail of dead
The night wanes on, you stay inside
Your own house a place to hide
There are a few still out your door
Not as many as was before
So you let yourself to sleep
Hoping that your health will keep
continue on
