    Agnes came to New York, NY on the steam ship Iowa from Glasgow, Scotland on 10 Dec 1866 with her four children, Robert, David, Mary, and Jane; husband David having apparently preceded her.

    Agnes was consistently referred to in records in Scotland as Agnes DURIE; in the U.S., she was consistently referred to as Agnes BROWN!?! On her death certificate, her mother's maiden name was given as Mary BROWN.
