| A friendly hello to everybody in the community from Germany!
I have just registered in this forum and would like to introduce myself first. My name is Michael Ernst, called maikel in the forum. Im living in West-Germany, nearby Stuttgart, the capital of the southern province Baden-Wrttemberg. Im very interested in Field-Target shooting since I saw it first in October 2005. I started with a Weihrauch HW 100, limited power 7,5 J . Only weapons up to 7,5 J are to be bought without a special examination in Germany. As I took much pleasure in shooting FT, my wife was interested too, and indeed, she joins my preference. And I have to agree, that, in fact, shes better than me. So good that she succeeded to become the German Master 2006 in her category, class 5. In the meantime both our suns (13 years old) are enthusiastic FT-shooters too. For better understanding about German FT: We have 5 categories in Germany: class 1 is PCP, means compressed air, power limited up to 16,3 J (I think it's about 12ft/lb ), as for example Steyr LG 110, Walther Dominator class 2 is springguns, power limited up to 16,3 J (=12ft/lb ) as for example Weihrauch HW 97 The classes for beginners (only the following weapons are to be bought without licence, this is a characteristic in the German law) are class 3, PCP, compressed air, power limited up to 7,5 J (about 5.5ft/lb) class 4, springguns, power limited up to 7,5 J (about 5.5ft/lb) class 5, springguns, power limited up to 7,5 J (about 5.5ft/lb) with compensation, such as Feinwerkbau 300, Diana 75 We shoot at targets like the Gamos, but modified or as well selfmade, with different silhouettes such as frog, wood grouse, rat, squirrel, dove, sparrow and so on. The kill zones are 15 mm up to 15 meters, from 15 to 20 meters 20 mm, from 20 to 35 meters it's 25 mm and then up to 50 meters 40 mm. Thereby the longest distance range for 7,5 J ist 25 meters. In the meantime our equipment includes the following (all are 0.177 cal./4,5 mm): Mine are the HW 100 7,5 J with big Nikko 10-50x60 and the Steyr LG 110 7,5 J (but its prepared to be pushed up to 16,3 J) with big Nikko 10-50x60 My wife has a Diana 75 with Simalux Gold 8-32x 50 sun Alexander has a Feinwerkbau 602 with ZOS 10-40 and sun Marc has a Feinwerkbau 601 with ZOS 10-40, too The Diabolos we prefer are JSB exact 4,51 and 4,53 (Steyr). We like it very much to take part in competitions, although we have to drive a lot of kilometers to reach the venues, as there are only a few spread all over Germany. maikel |
