Week 8: Gender, transport and health care: demand responsive transport, intelligent booking systems and health care system savings.

This seminar examines the implications of new information communication technologies for the design of transport modes better suited to the needs of women, most particularly in respect of their health needs. The seminar explores demand responsive transport options and the consequences that the adoption of such new modes of transport provision could have upon health care system savings.

The second reading provides access to policy research on demand responsive transport systems in the context of health.

The third reading provides an analysis of the ways in which gender scheduling can be transformed in the health area amongst others by the combination of new communication technologies and demand responsive transport forms.
