THE BOY VS. MERCY
Natalie:
The following contest in a number one contenders match for the PrimeTime Championship! First making his way to the ring...Mercy!
Lights in the arena turn off and the beginning of "Stinkfist" plays through the intro and then Mercy appears at the top of the ramp, as strobe lights come on. He makes his way down the ramp at a slow pace. Gets up on the apron of the ring and puts one leg through the ropes as if he was entering the ring but looks back at the crowd with a sombre look on his face. Then he enters the ring and stands in the corner waiting.
Tony Rios:
Last week on Bloodzone, Scott Hellings left Mercy all alone against Bombtrack and Stevie Swing.
Greg Hutton:
He was injured. It was legit.
Tony Rios:
Sure it was.
Natalie:
And his opponent...From Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada… Scott Hellings!
The lights go out and The Boy's entrance video begins to play as red and white lights flash throughout the arena. As the lyrics begin The Boy emerges from behind the curtain. He saunters down the entrance ramp, pausing to show off his body and to talk trash to some of the fans. He slides into the ring and climbs the turnbuckle, and does a salute to all his "fans," whom he refers to as "The Boy Scouts."
Tony Rios:
The fans are cheering for the guy?
Greg Hutton:
Well, we are here in Toronto. These fans have a history of odd chants and stuff.
Tony Rios:
The winner of this match will meet the winner of the Primetime Tournament Finals at a later date.
The bell sounds and the match is under way. Seth Collins motions for the two wrestlers to get it on. Hellings and Mercy lock up in the middle of the ring. Each man is trying his best to out power the other. Mercy and Hellings end up in a stalemate and break the lock up.
Tony Rios:
These two are dead even Greg.
Greg Hutton:
This is a very personal match with history that dates back to 2001.
They go for another lock up. Hellings ducks under Mercy and dropkicks him in the back sending him into the ropes. He bounces off the ropes and takes Hellings down with a clothesline. Hellings rolls to the outside to catch his breath.
Tony Rios:
Mercy already has Hellings frustrated.
Greg Hutton:
Don’t worry about Scotty.
Hellings jumps back up on the ring apron as Mercy backs off allowing Hellings to re-enter the ring. They lock up again. After a few moments of back and forth power, Mercy backs Scott Hellings up into the turnbuckle. Seth Collins waits for several moments before breaking the two apart. Mercy backs up with his hands in the air. Scott Hellings takes advantage and charges out of the corner and takes Mercy down with a flying clothesline. Mercy gets right back up and ducks a clothesline from Scott Hellings and slaps on a dragon sleeper but Scott Hellings quickly gets the ropes then rolls out of the ring.
Tony Rios:
Seems like Mercy has Scott Hellings retreating again.
Greg Hutton:
He’s just taking another breather.
Tony Rios:
The match just started.
Scott Hellings gets back into the ring and locks up with Mercy again, but Scott Hellings sneaks in a knee to the midsection then clubs Mercy’s back a few times. Scott Hellings brings Mercy down with a snap suplex. Scott Hellings gets up and drops a leg across Mercy’s throat. He makes a cocky cover by leaning on Mercy.
Seth Collins:
1... 2...
Tony Rios:
Mercy kicks out. Nice try Scott.
Greg Hutton:
He doesn’t sweat Mercy.
Scott Hellings gets Mercy up and tosses him into the ropes. Mercy hits the ground; Hellings hops over him and continues off the ropes. When he comes back at Mercy he leaps over a back body drop attempt. This time when he comes running at Mercy he gets caught in a powerslam. Mercy makes the cover.
Seth Collins:
1... 2...
Greg Hutton:
Hellings kicks out!
Tony Rios:
Two close falls already in this match.
Greg Hutton:
That wasn’t a close fall.
When Mercy gets back to his feet, Hellings reaches up and uses Mercy’s tights to pull him into a schoolboy.
Seth Collins:
1... 2
The Mercy kicks out right at the count of 2. Mercy gets up and runs at Scott Hellings with a knockout haymaker, but Hellings ducks it and places Mercy in a cobra clutch.
Greg Hutton:
That is the beginning of the end.
Tony Rios:
It just might be.
Hellings has the cobra clutch locked in on Mercy. He tries to fight it but the air to his head has been cut off for too long and he sinks to the mat. Hellings smiles thinking that this will be it. Seth Collins lifts Mercy’s arm in the air.
Seth Collins:
One!
He lifts Mercy’s arm up in the air a second time.
Seth Collins:
Two!
The Seth Collins lifts Mercy’s arm up for the third and final time.
Greg Hutton:
This is three.
Tony Rios:
No it isn’t. Mercy keeps his arm up in the air.
Mercy gains momentum from the fans and gets back up to his feet. He smashes Hellings in the gut with his elbow but he refuses to let go of the hold. Mercy elbows Hellings a second time in the gut loosening his grip. Mercy goes for a third elbow, but the wise Hellings gives him a back suplex.
Tony Rios:
That was a great manoeuvre there by Scott Hellings.
Greg Hutton:
He knew what was coming and avoided it.
Hellings gets Mercy back up and sets Mercy up for a powerbomb, but Mercy lifts Scott Hellings over his back. He picks Scott Hellings up and tosses him into the turnbuckle. He lifts Hellings up and places him on the top turnbuckle. He follows Hellings to the top turnbuckle and sets him up for a suplex. He lifts Hellings up and dives off the top ropes with a superplex. Both men are down.
Rios:
Big time superplex by Mercy!
Greg Hutton:
But he took a lot out of himself as well.
Mercy rolls over into a cover on Hellings.
Seth Collins:
1... 2...
Scott Hellings kicks out. Mercy follows his pin attempt with an arm bar. Hellings is quick to grab the ropes with his free hand. Mercy gets up and stalks Hellings from behind. When he gets back to his feet he waits for Hellings to turn around. When he does he tries to lift him up into a fireman’s carry but Hellings slides behind Mercy and hits a release german suplex and makes a cover.
Seth Collins:
1... 2...
Tony Rios:
Mercy kicks out!
Greg Hutton:
He is struggling a little more with each pin attempt from Hellings.
Hellings lifts Mercy back up to his feet and fires him into the turnbuckles. He runs in at him, jumps in the air for the Canadian Crunch (stinger splash), but Mercy ducks underneath him. Scott Hellings lands on the second turnbuckle. Mercy clubs Hellings in the back several times. He turns around and grabs Hellings under his arms, runs forward and brings him down with 36 Chambers (running outsider’s edge). He makes the cover on Hellings.
Seth Collins:
1... 2...
Tony Rios:
Hellings gets his foot on the ropes.
Greg Hutton:
He didn’t waste any energy kicking out.
Tony Rios:
I don’t think he had the energy to kick out.
Mercy gets back to his feet in frustration. The Canadian crowd burst out into a split chat.
Half of Crowd:
LET’S GO MERCY!
Immediately followed by.

Mercy waits for Hellings to get back to his feet. When he goes, Mercy spins him around and gives Hellings a stiff kick just above the belt line. He scoops him up for The Sickness (greetings from Asbury Park), but Hellings slips behind Mercy and hits The Good Deep (Angle Slam). Both men are down. Hellings crawls over to Mercy to make the cover.
Seth Collins:
1... 2... 3!
Tony Rios:
NO!
Greg Hutton:
I KNEW IT!
Natalie:
Here is your winner and the number on contender for the Primetime Championship... Scott Hellings!
