matches: THE BOY VS. JASON MAVERICK VS. JAKE HERO

(Red, White, and Blue lights, and pyro bring Hero to the ring. He greets as many fans as possible, as they are his true reason for being where he is.)

(Maverick walks out at the 30 second mark of this song with his manager Ashley. Maverick then walks over to one side of the crowd and pounds his chest and then does the same for the other side of the crowd. Maverick gets to the Apron and jumps up there and helps Ashley in the ring and then gets on one knee and does a prayer stance.)

(The lights go out and The Boy's entrance video begins to play as red and white lights flash throughout the arena. As the lyrics to the song hits The Boy emerges from behind the curtain. He saunters down the entrace ramp, pausing to show off his body and to talk trash to some of the fans. He slides into the ring and climbs the turnbuckle, and does a salute to all his "fans," whom he refers to as "The Boy Scouts.")

[As the bell rings, Hellings charges forward, catching Jake with a clothesline, and then being summarily dropped where he stood by a dropkick from Jason Maverick. Jake Hero gets to his feet quickly, catching Jason with an inside elbow, then sending Jason into the far ropes, dropping Jason with a drop toehold. Scott gets to his feet, dropping Jake with a clothesline. Behind them both, Jason leaves the ring, Scott pulling a pair of brass knuckles from his pocket, and, as Jake begins to get to his feet, Scott rears back to fire a punch into Jason’s skull with the loaded fist. Before he can swing, however, his arm is grabbed by Jason Maverick, who quickly turns Scott around, dropping Scott with a fireman’s carry, dumping the brass knuckles to the ground. As Scott begins to get to his feet, looking for the brass knuckles, his shock is evident as the weapon appears to be gone. Slowly standing, Scott continues to look around, and, as a result, doesn’t see Jason’s hand moving forward until it’s too late, the right hook staggering Scott backward into the ropes. As Scott’s vision swims, he looks up, as Jason reveals that it was he who had taken the brass knuckles, and Scott had been hit by his own weapon. Scott collapses to the mat, whereupon he is easily pinned by Jake, as the referee goes to lecture Jason about the weapon use.]

Nick Richards
"So, does that mean this match is over?"

Kevin Richards
"No. We were informed, shortly before this match began, that this match had become elimination rules."

Nick Richards
"So, now, it’s down to Jake Hero and Jason Maverick? Scott Hellings is out?"

Kevin Richards
"That’s right."

[Jason and Jake lock up, Jason shoving Jake into the ropes, and, as Jake returns, he’s met with a quick kick to the midsection. The kick is followed up, quickly, by a DDT, Jason hitting the middle rope, and sailing off with a springboard moonsault. Jake manages to get his knees up, at the last possible second, Jason hitting Jake’s knees at a high velocity, so hard, in fact, that Jason ended up standing, stumbling backward slightly, and eventually falling, heavily, into the ropes. Jake gets to a knee, then charges across the ring, taking Jason over the top rope with a clothesline. After a few moments, Jason begins to get to his feet, as Jake exits the ring, standing on the apron. As Jason stands, slowly, to his feet, Jake jumps from the apron, with a double axehandle. Jason, however, manages to catch Jake, albeit off-balance, stumbling backward slightly, and then falling backward completely, dropping Jake facefirst into the top of the guardrail. Jake stumbles backward, into the apron, leaning against the apron for a moment, clutching his jaw. Jason gets to his feet, charging at Jake with a spear, Jake ducking away slightly, Jason plowing into the side of the steel steps, sending the top half of the steel steps flying. Jason straightens a bit, looking a bit punch-drunk, back to Jake, which gives Jake the time needed to catch Jason from behind, lifting Jason with a belly to back suplex, then rotating slightly, to drop Jason onto the bottom half of the steps headfirst, Jason’s body recoiling from the impact, and falling onto the far side of the steps. Jake slowly begins to get to his feet, moving toward the fallen Jason, quickly hooking Jason up for a snap suplex, onto the fallen top half of the steel steps, only to have the suplex attempt blocked by Jason, and countered into a lifting DDT into the steps.]

Kevin Richards
"That move may shift the entire complexion of this match, folks. Provided Jason can capitalize."

Nick Richards
"No way, pops. Jason took a heinous hit to the head a little bit ago, and that move was entirely desperation."

Kevin Richards
"You may be right Nick."

[Jason, slowly, begins to get to his feet, groggily, leaning heavily on the apron, then moving back slightly, to lean against the turnbuckle post. Jake, finally, manages to get to his feet, grabbing Jason’s left arm, then moving onto the other side of the turnbuckle post, extending his arm slightly, then moving to pull Jason into the turnbuckle post. Jason, however, manages to put his foot against the turnbuckle post, and, using that, and the grip on his arm, pulls Jake off of his feet, driving Jake headfirst into the turnbuckle post. Jason moves around the corner of the turnbuckle post, picking Jake up, and tossing Jake, easily, over the guardrail. Both men begin brawling, after a moment, moving slowly back toward the entrance way, disappearing backstage. Jason gets the upper hand, finally, turning to hurl Jake, headfirst, into the brick wall. Jake recoils from the impact, only to get caught from behind in a reverse waistlock, Jason hurling Jake, via a release German suplex, into the wall. Jason goes for a pin, quickly.]

1...2...

[Kickout, just barely.]

Kevin Richards
"Now, this match is more or less going to come down to who can do more damage to the other and still have enough energy left to make the pin, before their opponent can shrug off the damage done, and force the match to continue."

Nick Richards
"Either way, pops, one, or both, of these men are going to be seriously messed up here tonight. And you can take that one to the bank."

[Jason pulls Jake to his feet, slinging Jake down the hall. Jake stops, after a bit, turning around, into a clothesline. Jason pulls Jake up, only to put Jake down with the Maverick Drop, then moving onto a nearby table, going from there onto the top of the adjacent soda machine. In the ring, Scott is finally getting up, and, without waiting for anyone to check on him, medically, charges up the ramp. Jason quickly lets fly with the Maverick Splash, going for a pin.]

1...2...

[Pin broken up by an iron bar to the side of the skull from Scott. As the crowd boos, loudly, Scott pulls Jason to his feet, planting Jason with the Good Deed, then beginning to pull Jason up, again, hooking him up for the Highway to HELLings, drilling Jason with his finisher. Rising to his feet, Scott begins to celebrate, as if he’d won the World title, at least until he turned to face Jake, the latter now on a knee. Scott moves to Jake, pulling Jake up the rest of the way, and hooking Jake up for his finisher, again. Jake catches Scott with a series of punches to the skull, and, as Scott is forced to break the hold, he’s also summarily drilled by the SuperStunner, Jake quickly going to the fallen Jason Maverick, going for a pin.]

1...2...3!

Kevin Richards
"Jake Hero’s the new US Champ!"

Nick Richards
"And it only took him everything he had. But he still pulled it out, and now, he’s got to be happy that he’s going to go down as the NSW’s US Champ."

Kevin Richards
"Maybe, but, as with all titles, that title will also double as a giant target on Jake’s back. Whether or not Jake can continue to win, with that target on his back, will decide if Jake goes down as a great champion or a fluke."
