Biography

Despite his young age, Scott Hellings has already done it all in the wrestling business.

Scott Hellings trained in Canada at the legendary Hart Dungeon wih his good friends Mr. Style Jay Zee and MC Tommy Dee. At that time he was the youngest person to ever train in The Dungeon and thus was given the nickname "The Boy," which was meant to demean him. He was smaller and not as experienced as his peers and was struggling. But all their taunting forced him to work hard, training intensely. Eventually he became the top student there, able to beat anyone who got in his way. It was clear The Boy had become "The Man," but Hellings let all his success go to his head. He had become an egomaniac and demanded that everyone refer to him as The Boy, in order to stress mock everyone for making a huge mistake in overlooking him.

Hellings had difficulty breaking in to wrestling though. He claimed it was because his friend Jay Zee, purposely held him back by using his influence to ensure he was never given a chance. There is some speculation that it actually had something to do with his attitude problem, but Hellings insists that it was Jay's influence that held him back. He claims that Jay Zee was very close with many people in the wrestling business and because Jay felt that Hellings was "far better" than he was, he shattered Hellings' dream of becoming a wrestler.

Over the next years Scott Hellings became a wealthy businessman, thanks to the dot.com era, and had seemingly forgot all about wrestling. One night, however, he was watching television and came across a new wrestling promotion called Rampage World Wrestling. On the screen was his old friend Jay Zee strutting around the ring wearing the US Title. Hellings made a few phone calls and eventually money talked, as he was able to coerce Rob Gamble into giving him a tryout. Hellings had a job within weeks.

He made his debut in RWW on the Friday Fire of May 27. His first match was scheduled for the pay-per-view event, "Unfinished Business". His opponent was to be The White Dragon (who was later revealed to be Chris Jericho) in a match dubbed "The Battle of the Rookies". But that monicker was overshadowed by what came to be known as "The War of the Words." Before the match even took place Hellings started to trash talk White Dragon, prompting retaliation from his opponent. Both men got into a intense rivalry with one another before they even stepped foot inside a wrestling ring. Also at this time, Hellings was badmouthing another individual-then RWW Comissioner and soon-to-be RWW World Champion, Stupac. During the match at Unfinished Business, Stupac came out to distract The Boy. But Hellings was too much for White Dragon that night and he still managed to win easily.

At this time, an old friend of Scott's showed up on the scene - MC Tommy Dee. Tommy had reformed his old tag team with Jay Zee, a team they called PSI (Pure Style Incorporated), which was very successful in Japan. The Boy was soon added to that group and it would not take for the trio to become one of the most powerful forces in the company. Although he would not reveal his intentions until several months later, it turned out that Scott only joined PSI to get closer to Jay, so that he could take him out.

In July of that month, Scott Hellings would capture his first title, by winning the Intercontinental Title at the pay-per-view "Instinct" from the champion Sycho Sid. The next event was Monday Gold and Hellings was forced to defend his title against newcomer Damon Gest. Hellings interrupted a cermony that had been set aside for retiring legends Big Daddy Bruce, Legend Inc and Donte Rocker to complain that already he was being forced to defend the title. Rob Gamble assured Hellings that he would do just fine, and the seeds of a Hellings-Gamble relationship were already visible. Hellings won the match against Gest, but gained an intense amount of respect for his opponent. Thus, on the ensuing edition of Friday Fire, Damon Gest was scheduled to take on Jay Zee. But, much to everyone's surprise, the two men hugged each other and Damon had become an official member of PSI.

Over the next few months, Hellings and Stupac would continue to exchange words. Stupac would make his own stable known as The Impact Playaz. It would contain newcomer Too Tuff (and later his friend K Dogg), Matt Mathers, Sycho Sid, and Dan Coil. Tommy Dee and Coil immediately got in each other's faces and the two factions got caught up in a war to determine which stable was the best. This feud had the two most dominant forces in RWW against each other, and allowed the perfect opportunity for a coup of the company. Three separate entities, The Renegades, Team UCF and Team UWF all invaded Rampage World Wrestling in the summer months.

Suddenly, the stable war had to be put on hold and, for the first time ever, Gamble and PSI were receiving praise from the fans. Rob Gamble had taken Hellings under his wing and tried to convince him that RWW was there to stay and The Boy should fight for it. Hellings did just that and he defended his title against invader Abyss at the HonoR pay-per-view. But there were several major events at that event that overshadowed Hellings' victory.

Gamble helped Killer Instinct (from UWF) beat Bombtrack for the RWW World Title. As well, the main event was scheduled to be "Caged Rage" where teams of four from each faction would compete. If any of the invading factions won, they were given contracts to Rampage World Wrestling. Much to everyone's shock, Gamble helped his foes win over team RWW (that contained Stupac, Coil, Tommy Dee and Jay Zee). Jay Zee took quite a beating and the effects of the match (and the previous months of action) forced him into retirement. It appeared that Hellings would not get his revenge.

Hellings was so enraged that Gamble had turned his back on his company that he gave up the Intercontinental Title in disgust. An surprising move, since Hellings had become rather...attached, to the belt. Hellings and PSI left Gamble behind. During this time, Stupac beat Killer Instinct to win the World Title, an event that would have an impact later.

Hellings would then take on Mercy for the number one contendership to the IC Title, which he would win. He then took on Matt Mathers for the vacated title at BattleLines and won that match to win the belt for the second time (without actually losing it yet).

One month later, Hellings was scheduled to take on arch-nemesis Stupac at "Devil's Night" for the World Title. But much to everyone's amazement, Hellings laid down for Stupac and the two then embraced with Rob Gamble in the centre of the ring. PSI was back on top, aligned with Gamble and the addition of Stupac to the team. They also became part of larger group of Gamble's supporters known as "The Gamble Army," but it was clear that PSI was the force to be reckoned with.

PSI would then be on top of the RWW with no real opposition (the Impact Playaz were no more after Stupac defected). Hellings and Dee would even go on to become Tag Champions. Then Commissioner Lancelot, determined to see PSI dissipate, scheduled Hellings and Stupac to take on Hellings and Dee for the Tag Belts! But it was a PSI trick and Hellings and Stupac became Tag Champions, calling their team "Two Guys, A Tag Team and A Pizza Place."

They were on top of the world, but then somehow, Stupac lost the title to Mercy. TO make matter worse, Jay Zee had came back from injury, with the goal to destroy PSI - his own creation. Jay was angry and felt that PSI had become a joke and blamed Scott Hellings. At a match against Mercy for the World Title at the pay-per-view Temptation, Jay Zee got involved and cost The Boy the match. The feud had boiled over. PSI would eventually crumble with Gest and Dee turning their backs on Hellings and Stupac retiring. Hellings was on his own, and he was determined to take out Jay Zee. At this time, Jay had made his own rival PSI faction "The REAL PSI" with Bombtrack, K Dogg and Too Tuff. Hellings was enraged.

Over the next few weeks Scott became more and more egotistical. He became consumed with getting more "TV time." At the pay-per-view event "Blaze of Glory" Hellings and Jay Zee would finally go one on one. It was a TLC match, a match that Jay Zee was undefeated at. Suspended above the ring was a briefcase containing the rights to PSI. Hellings gave Jay Zee everything he had and eventually won the match. But this match was about more than PSI; The Boy made it his goal to eliminate Jay Zee and destroy his career. Hellings was vicious throughout the match, now considered a classic. Jay Zee would not give up, but The Boy succeeded in destroying his foe. Jay Zee has yet to wrestle since.

The Boy would soon see the err in his ways though and actually patched things up with MC Tommy Dee and Stupac. And Hellings would go on to defeat Bombtrack for the Undisputed Title at Unfinished Business 2002 in a hellacious street fight. The Boy was on top of the world, but would soon drop the title to Big Daddy Bruce. Hellings would win the title back again, only to lose it to Shadojoker.

It was at this point The Boy took a leave from RWW for a short period of time, concentrating on trying to break into Hollywood. However, his efforts were all for naught and he he was soon forced back into the RWW spotlight. After another stop in RWW, The Boy eventually settled into a new company known as No Surrender Wrestling and proved that he is still the One and Only UBERstar by beating David Lee for the United States Championship in a ladder match in the main event of the very first edition of NSW Overdrive. Recognizing that he now represented both Canada (his homeland) and America (because of the title), he decided that, because he is never satisfied, that he had to expand his status as The Canadian Legend into that of the North American Legend. As such, he sent out a challenge to any superstar from Mexico for the right to be The North American Legend. Sadly, both this quest and a feud with veteran Jake Hero were cut short due to NSW's unfortunate demise. The Boy then made a shocking debut in New Era Wrestling at the end of October 2005, but left due to "creative differences" and a desire to pursue a career in politics. His political career could not get off the ground, so he instead found a home in the company Explosive Wrestling Action. Upon entering, he declared that it was his goal to become a famous celebrity and began his own WorldWide Publicity Tour to help get his name into the public eye. But Hellings not only enjoyed success outside of the squared circle, as he was capable of capturing both the EWA Mighty Lion and International Championships, holding both at the same time. Will he have continued success wherever he may go from here? Only time will tell.

But one thing is certain: wrestling superstars everywhere better be ready for The Boy because you can expect him to be back on top, sooner rather than later.

Whether you like or hate him, you have to admit that he is one of the top superstars in the game today.
