In Bombay, after their 10th Standard, generally, the large majority of students attend a junior college. I attended Khalsa College, King's Circle for my 11th and 12th Standard. I had taken vocational electronics here, which really helped me develop an active interest in wireless. I also developed a deep respect for the Sikh community after studying in Khalsa. It is a little known fact that during the Kuwait invasion, the Sikh community put up a refreshment stall at the airport for the returning Indians. And by refreshments, they meant the entire 4-course meal waiting for them! And among those who were present at the "langar" (community kitchen) for kitchen, to cook food, were the then principal of Khalsa college and his wife. I had to leave Khalsa after my 12th Standard to obtain an Engineering degree. I obtained my degree (in Electronics & Telecom Engineering), from K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai. |
