Horoscope:
One small act of kindness is worth a mountain of heartlessness. One generous gesture can compensate for a season of selfishness. A moment of understanding can repair a lifetime of ignorance. There is no need to be sparing with compassion. Even if nobody gives you credit, the heart has access to a self replenishing supply. Start liking and being kind to yourself and you will find the sky is not just offering you the chance to enjoy a brief moment of magic, but the start of a process that provides plenty of deep future fulfilment. 19TH JULY: YUCKY NASTIES ENTRY
The nasties have finally arrived, and they are being damned mean. Though I am not being all that grumpy surprisingly. I think it is because I have been for the last few days. But something terribly embarrassing happened earlier that has not happened since I was a wee lass. I leaked. It was such a sudden thing. I had changed before I left the house then I was sitting there sneezing and it was like, not that you want to know all this detail, a flood. I had no choice but to get on the bus. Fortunately for me it was too hot to wear my jacket so I sat on it, and my cardigan is one of those long ones that are currently fashionable. I have this fear that someone saw though. It is so disgusting.
I hate having my period. I really do. But I think that everyone should know that by now. This entry is mainly to remind myself that it started yesterday so that I know when to expect it next month. Yessire.

THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL
I just finished watching The Boys From Brazil, the filmed based on the novel by Ira Levin, one of my all time favourite authors. I concede, not a very original author to admire, but he is clever. I guess in a way he could be described as a writer of horror, of which I think we all know I am a fan. However The Boys From Brazil is one of my favourites for many other reasons. The first is the entire situation is feasible- that is cloning is a serious possibility, if not already a reality. The second is my fascination with WWII, or rather the man himself, Hitler. Well, not specifically him, but all psychopaths, which I explain in detail later.
As for the film, it sticks pretty damned close to the book. Seeing as The Boys From Brazil is resting under a corner of my fridge currently (to stop me from reading it any further and to level out the fridge) it is not entirely fresh in my mind, however I am sure that I know most of it. There were differences of course, however the film succeeded in sticking to the point of the tale. The outcome was the same, however it did not have the same dramatic punch as in the novel.
The thing that I find strange is that I came across it in the war section. Sure, it involves Jews and Nazi war criminals, but it is not a film about war. It is about humanity, nature versus nurture. It is creepy. For once I am not disappointed in the adaptation of a novel to film. The only problem that I really had with it is that it is an old film (Gregory Peck played nasty Dr. Josef Mengele) and the sound quality was shocking. However that is probably not the case on all reproductions. I am not sure whether to recommend it to anyone (as I did with Cube this afternoon to a woman who was looking at it, which is where my background comes from) because I am not sure how much of my fondness for this film comes from my fascinations, however it is a film that does transpire well into modern times, so go watch it, okay.
Other films based on Levin’s books: Rosemary’s Baby, Sliver, The Stepford Wives (see, remake people! Who cares who did it, why put Nicole Kidman of all people in it. Then again, I do like Christopher Walken), A Kiss Before Dying and a few other classics.
Geez, so many more films to watch-and a BB3 eviction tomorrow and Monday. Cheers.
Oh geez, there has been another make of the film at a later date. I am so sick of remakes. Do a sequel, do a prequel (though I do hate prequels), but do not just remake a film, dammit. If it has been done and it was good enough that you wish that you had done it, THEN DON’T DO IT! I hate remakes. Okay, so it is a completely different film, but I still stick to my distaste, I mean, look at Psycho, where they shot it scene for scene. Duh. REMAKES REMAKES REMAKE> AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
