1984 Marshall JCM 800 Mk II Head

This is a Marshall JCM 800 Model 2204 Mark 2 head 100% ORIGINAL/STOCK! NO MODs NO Nothing !!. Serial # S10211,the S on the serial number indicates that the amp was made in 1984. This amp is in great condition and 100% working condition, sounds as great as it looks.
The JCM 800 2204 is one of Marshall's great amps, a big favorite among those who love Marshall amps. Marshall added silicon op-amp parts to other models, including the later JCM 800 models with many knobs, the 2205 and 2210 and it’s been fizzy ever since.
Wonder why tech guys think the JCM 800s were built great? Pick up a JCM 800 and a JCM 900 (Marshall’s next model), and you can feel that the JCM 800 is much heavier. Why a 50 watt head? Jeff Beck, Duane Allman, Angus Young and Yngwie Malmsteen are among the list of Marshall users who prefer the 50 watt heads over the 100 watt heads.
Since the 50 watt heads use two power tubes instead of four, they crunch up faster and sound more compressed. Around 1970, Marshall stopped using the preferred Drake transformers for their 100 watt heads, but they continued using Drakes in their 50 watt heads. This head has Drake transformers (see picture below). The amp uses two 6550 tubes, which Marshall used in all United States heads from the early 1970s through the mid 1980s.
These tubes stand up well to the massive plate voltage pumped by the drake transformers. The Amp has new tubes and has been biased correctly and totally checked by authorized Marshall Tech. Use of EL34s, are possible if you desire, but you would need to re-bias the amp for optimal sound and tube life.Different tubes, need different bias settings. This unit has 3 12AX7 preamp tubes,2 speaker out's,D.I. output,4,8,16 ohms switch, triple voltage selector,2 protection fuses, high and low inputs. See pic below for details on condition.
