PICTURE STORE DECEMBER 2000 Images from the Isle of Tiree
This pretty picture is of Baugh heading towards Scarinish. I took this on the afternoon of Christmas Day as I was heading for work. On the extreme right hand side is Baugh Baptist Church. It really was as nice a day as it looks in the photograph. Hard to believe that only two days later this area, and almost all of Tiree, was under several feet of snow! Incidentally, the soft-focus effect is due to my taking this picture through the windscreen of my car
Above: An Acairsaid, Cornaigmore, 27th December 2000. Left: further down the same road. The house through the crossroads is a church which has been converted into a domestic residence owned by the Skinner Family.
A Rescued picture: this was taken late last summer from atop Ben Hough in the west of Tiree. This demonstrates to some extent the legendary 'flatness' of Tiree (as long as you bear in mind that I was up a hill when I took this!) The big loch is Loch Bhasapol.
