DRIVE - The Full Discography
If you can't read the "menu" then click the image for an "actual size" version.  The backcover went through a number of rough drafts.

The theme of this CD is  transportation like the movie "
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles."  Only in this case we include boats, jeeps, pickup trucks, etc.

George Strait: I first heard George Strait at "Ak Sar Ben" which was the old Omaha (Neb-ras-ka) civic center which has since been torn down I understand.  What a showman!  Back in 1988 his biggest hit was "All My Exes Live In Texas."  I bought the album "The Road Less Traveled" after I heard the song "Run" on the radio driving home one night from Quantico in 2000 or 2001. While these songs are from the new millennium, they really remind me of my time out in the midwest in the 1980s during the Reagab-Bush years in the twilight of the cold war.  Even though we were in Nebraska and not Texas, the song "Run" reminds me of the years my wife Susan and I lived a cross-continent commuter marriage. When he sings "cut a path across the blue sky" it reminds me of how many times I spent in airports saying a tearful goodbye when we knew we wouldn't see each other for another six to eight weeks at a stretch.

Alan Jackson
Carrie Underwood:  Her new album is great!  There are a few weak songs, but overall, I am very happy that they wrote her some real country songs with real lyrics.  Both of the songs I selected for this collection take place in cars. MORE LATER.

Finally, in the words of Toby Keith:
I like my truck.
I like my girlfriend.
But I LOVE this bar!
