Irene Mildred Harris, 79 of New Creek, WV died Wednesday, April 19, 1995 at her residence.

Born July 22, 1915 in Grant County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Minor and Mary (Hardy) Leatherman.

Mrs. Harris was a member of the Ridge Dunkard Brethren Church of New Creek.

Surviving are her husband, Otto F. Harris; one son, Wayne Harris and wife Barbara of New Creek; three daughters, Mildred Messenger of Littlestown, PA, Viola Weaver and Hazel Bream of Waynesboro, PA; four brothers; Virgil Leatherman and Garland Leatherman of Littlestown, PA, Ralph Leatherman of Frederick MD and Charles Leatherman of Waueson, Ohio; one sister, Myra Rotruck of Winchester, VA; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 21 at the Ridge Dunkard Brethren Church, with Elder Gene Kauffman officiating.

Interment will be on the Harris family farm.

The body will be taken to the residence today, where friends may call after 5 p.m.

The Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, is in charge of arrangements.

Active Pallbearers were Teddy Keplinger, Myron Shaffer, Harry Hott, Junior Smith, Nunzio Barbera and Otis Keplinger. Honorary Pallbearer was Ramie Bream.

Anna Rebecca Harris, 81, a life-long resident of Grant County, died Saturday afternoon January 28, 1956, at her home, Martin, WV.

Born in Grant County December 06, 1874, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah Rebecca (Harris) Rotruck. Her husband Taylor E. Harris died in 1929. She was a member of the Knobley Church of the Brethren.

Mrs. Harris is survived by five children; Mrs. Blanche Smootz, Mrs. Myrtle Rotruck, Antioch, Miss Mamie Harris, Gilbert Harris, Floyd Harris, Martin; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Harris , Mrs. Lula Leatherman, Antioch.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Knobley Church of the Brethren with Rev. Owen Stultz, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Knobley Cemetery.

The body is at the home, Tomorrow. It will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. for the services at 2 o�clock.

Joseph Scott Harris, 96 of HC 75 Box 178, New Creek, WV died Sunday, April 11, 1999 at his residence.

Born April 01, 1903 in Martin, WV, Grant County, he was a son of the late Benton and Maranda (George) Harris. He was also preceded in death by four brothers; three sisters and one grandson.

Mr. Harris retired from the Street Department of the City of Keyser after 11 years of services. Prior to that he had been employed by the WV Department of highways. He was Brethren by faith.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Beatrice (Coffman) Harris; five sons, Alvie Joseph Harris, Cumberland, Maryland, Willard Lee Harris and Guy Andrew Harris and wife Sarah all of New Creek. James Ernest Harris and companion, Angel, Romney, WV, and Ted Ivan Harris and wife Gail, Keyser, WV; one daughter Genevieve "Ginny" Bittinger and husband Carl "Buck" Barton, Maryland; 23 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, April 14 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. George R. Loar officiating.

Interment will be in the Thrush Cemetery, Antioch, WV.

Oliver C. Harris 84 of Martin, WV, Grant County died Saturday May 26, 1979 in Grant Memorial Hospital.

Born February 14, 1895, he was a son of the late Isaac Harris and Laura (Rotruck) Harris.

Surviving are two brothers, Lee Harris with whom he resided, Milford Harris, both of Martin, WV; two foster sisters, Mrs. Julia Shimmel, Florida and Mrs. Mary Flanigan, Parkersburg, WV.

Services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Knobley Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Thomas Sam Goldizen. Interment will be in Knobley Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the Lee Harris residence.

Walter Lee Harris, 70 of Martin, WV, Grant County died Monday August 27, 1979 in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Maryland.

Born at Martin, December 15, 1908, he was a son of the late Sherman Harris and Laura (Rotruck) Harris.

Preceded him in death was a brother Oliver C. Harris on May 26, 1979.

He was a retired farmer and member of Knobley Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Helen (Burgess) Harris; one daughter Glendora Woods, Martin; one brother, Milford Harris, Martin; two foster-sisters, Mrs. Mary Flanagan, Parkersburg; Mrs. Julia Schimmel, Florida; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Knobley church of the Brethren by the Rev. Sam Goldizen. Interment will be in Knobley Cemetery.

Mrs. Maggie M. Harris, 96, Antioch route, New Creek, WV died yesterday January 28, 1976 at Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Romney.

A native of Grant County, born October 4, 1879, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah Rebecca (Harris) Rotruck and was the widow of Thomas Harris.

She was a member of the Dunkard Brethren Church

Surviving are a daughter, Miss May Harris, and two sons, Otto Harris and Vance Harris, all of Antioch Route; four grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Rotruck Funeral Home and after 2 p.m. Saturday at the residence.

The body will be taken at noon Sunday, February 1, 1976 to the Dunkard Brethren Church for services at 2 p.m. by Elder Howard Surbey; interment will be in Knobley Cemetery.

Short Gap, WV- Anna Belle Murphy Heavener, 70, of Short Gap, WV died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, MD.

Born April 19, 1928 in Antioch, WV, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Addie Mae (McNemar) Coffman. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Haywood Murphy on June 13, 1974.

Mrs. Heavener was a member of Our Father�s House, Knobley Road. She was a member of the Short Gap, Vol. Fire Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband, Warren J. Heavener; four sons, Samuel W. Stewart and wife Bobbi, Keyser, WV; Patrick H. Murphy, and wife Debbie, Hendersonville, NC. and Michael L. Murphy and wife Becky, Louisville, KY, and Thomas E. Murphy and wife Cathy, Fisher, WV; four daughters, Brenda S. Beeman and fiance, Wayne Winters, Wiley Ford, WV, Glenda L. Brady and husband Ralph, Fort Ashby, WV; Terri L. McLarney and husband Timothy, Cumberland, MD with whom she resided and Amy L. Scott and husband Dave, Hudson, N.H; two sisters, Bernice Dearing, Martinsburg, WV and Beatrice Harris, Antioch. 24 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ted Hartman officiating.

Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-6 and 7-9 p.m.

Lt. Col. Vance V. Hines (Ret), 87 of Rockville, Maryland, died Monday August 23, 1999 at his residence.

Born December 11, 1911, in Martin, WV, Grant County, he was a son of the late Calvin O. and Edna E. (Rotruck) Hines. He also was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Lt. Col. Hines was a U.S. Army Veteran of both World War II and the Korean conflict. He was then in the Army Reserves until 1964 and also worked at the Pentagon until his retirement in 1971. He attended the University of Maryland at Munich, Germany and eventually earned a degree in education. He was a member of the Hughes United Methodist Church, Wheaton, Maryland.

Surviving are his wife, Lois W. (Webb) Hines; three sons, Bobby Joe Webb and wife Letha, Deltona, Florida, Edmond C. Hines and wife Cynthia, Rockville, Maryland, and Gary R. Hines and wife, Alison, Silver Springs, Maryland; one daughter, Deborah Lynn Feaster and husband John, Gaithersburg, Maryland; one brother, Thurston T. Hines, Keyser and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Smith funeral Home, Keyser, on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Roger Leatherman officiating.

Mary E. Henderson, 83 of Rt.1, Box 5, Burlington, WV, died Friday November 06, 1998 at her residence.

Born August 18, 1915, in Falls, WV, she was a daughter of the late Chauncey and Ida Mae (Evans) Henderson.

Miss Henderson was the retired owner/operator of Mary�s Restaurant, Burlington, for 32 years. She was a member of the Burlington Union Church and a life time member of the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are one son, Randy D. Henderson and wife, Carolyn, Burlington; one sister, Myrtle Moreland, Mt. Storm, WV; two grandchildren, Olivia Henderson and Daniel Henderson; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special close companion, Eugene Walton, Clarksburg, WV.

Funeral Services will be conducted in the Rotruck Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Keyser, on Sunday, November 08, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Angela Cosner officiating.

Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

Barbara Catherine Hanlin, 95, died Sunday, July 1, 2001, in the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home in Oakland, Md.

Born on Oct. 25, 1905, at Wilson, she was a daughter of the late Emory and Margaret (Cummings) Wimer. Barbara was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer C. Hanlin.

She is survived by a sister, Pansy Kent and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon at the Bayard Church of God.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon in the church with the Rev. William McCallister officiating.

Interment will be in the Mount Storm Cemetery.

Lena Catherine Hanlin, 88, of Scherr, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999, at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg.

Born March 6, 1911, in Maysville, she was the daughter of the late Albert F. and Angie (Smith) Hesse. She also was preceded in death by one granddaughter; three brothers, and two sisters.

Mrs. Hanlin graduated from Saint John's Academy and Shepherd College, and taught school in Grant county for 26 years. She was a member of the Davis Baptist Church, Maysville.

Surviving are her husband, Clyde D. Hanlin, whom she married on Nov. 2, 1940; one daughter, Angie L. Idleman and husband Robert Dale, Scherr; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Idleman, Perrysburg, Ohio, and Mary Simmons and husband Garry, Maysville; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home Inc., 11 North Main Street, Petersburg, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Davis Baptist Church, Maysville, Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Donaldson and Pastor Robert Spaid officiating.

Interment will be in the Smith Family Cemetery, Maysville.

Russell Eugene "Biddy" Hanlin, 67, of Elk Garden, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at the Martinsburg VA Center.

Born on Sept. 2, 1932, in Mount Storm, he was the son of the late Walter B. and Velma Mae (Iman) Hanlin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Duling) Hanlin.

Mr. Hanlin was a self-employed contractor. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Mount Storm VFW Post #6735. He was a past West Virginia State Commander of the VFW, past All-American State Commander and a 32nd Degree Mason.

Surviving are one son, Craig Hanlin of Elk Garden; one daughter, Rhonda Reynolds of Charlestown; two brothers, Robert Hanlin of Cambridge, Md., and Donald Hanlin of Mount Storm; one sister, Norma Kitzmiller of Mount Storm; and five grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, Md., on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Mount Storm Methodist Church on Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Anderson officiating.

Interment will be in the Mount Storm Cemetery. Military graveside services will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

Louise Felta Harman, 92, of Petersburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at the Grant County Nursing Home, where she had resided since Jan. 4, 1995.

Born on Oct. 4, 1908, in Mineral County, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Amelia Katherine (Liller) Tucker Kissinger. She was the stepdaughter of the late Ernest Kissinger.

On Sept. 25, 1940, she married Preston Howard Harman, who preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1965. She was also preceded in death by two infant daughters.

Mrs. Harman taught school in Mineral County for 11 years. She later married and moved to Petersburg. She was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Petersburg Chapter No. 146 Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Petersburg Homemakers Club and the Petersburg Garden Club.

Surviving are one son, Stephen Howard Harman of Dorcas.

Friends will be received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Eastern Star will conduct a service at the funeral home Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Main Street United Methodist Church, Petersburg, Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. John E. Wildman officiating.

Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg.

Wilda V. Hayes, 85, of Knobley Road, Keyser, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.

Born on Feb. 24, 1917, at Corner, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Dolas Galen and Bessie Maude (Kimble) Smith. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie William Hayes, on July 11, 1979; an infant son; two brothers, Gotha and Arlie Smith; and five sisters, Viola Hinkle, Pearl Spitzer, Anna Spitzer, Dorsie Glass and Lena Smith.

Mrs. Hayes was a homemaker and was a member of the Cabin Run Wesleyan Methodist Church, Keyser, where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years.

Surviving are three daughters, Shirley Gillaspie and husband Harold of Mount Storm, Maxine Viney and husband Russell, and Geraldine Loy and husband James, all of Keyser; one son, Charles William Hayes and wife Barbara of Keyser; two sisters, Lelia Mowry of Petersburg, and Dora Ellen Ellifritz of Fairmont. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Amy C. Hochard, 84, of Cumberland, Md., died March 20, 2002 in Cumberland.

Born April 20, 1917, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lizzie Keplinger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Albert Hochard.

She is survived by three sons, Larry S. Hochard of Bedford, Pa., Harry E. Hochard of Ridgeley and Howard L. Hochard of Woodstock, Va.; two sisters, Bessie Bible of Petersburg and Leona Newell of Newark, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Michael Hochard, Stacey Hochard, Kimberly Hochard, Missy Hochard, Jonathan Hochard, Christopher Hochard, Jordan Hochard and Kayla Hochard and one great-granddaughter, Payton McKenzie Hochard.

Funeral services were March 22, at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, with interment in the Sunset Memorial Park.

Mrs. Lena J. Hawk, 82, of Scherr, died March 22, 2002  at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.

Born June 24, 1919, at Antioch, she was the daughter of the late James and Della (Rotruck) Billmyre. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Loren H. "Bake" Hawk, Dec. 23, 1993.

She is survived by one son, James B. "Sonny" Hawk of New Creek; one granddaughter, D'Andra Hawk; two great-grandchildren; two step-grandsons, Larry Kidwell Jr. and Bobby Kidwell; two step great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were March 26, at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, with interment in the Maysville Cemetery, Maysville.

Scott A. Hughes II, infant son of Scott A. and Bonnie K. (House) Hughes, 402 Carskadon Road, died shortly after birth Monday, December 12, 1988 at Grant County Memorial Hospital, Petersburg, WV.

Besides his parents, he is survived by a half-brother, Harold Ellsworth Bishop IV; his maternal grandfather, Rex House, Keyser; and his paternal grandparents, Eugene B. and Dorothy (Michael) Hughes, Antioch, WV.

His maternal grandmother was the late Lucy Mae (Yost) House.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 p.m. in Potomac Memorial Gardens by the Rev. David R. Peters. Interment will follow. The Markwood-McKenzie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Lorene Harding, 82, of Bayard, died Saturday, May 4, 2002 at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland, Md.

Born on May 15, 1919, in Logan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Lindsey and Bessie (Perry) Frazier. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George E. Harding in 1983; one son, Allan K. Harding; an adopted daughter, Eloise A.; and two sisters, Sarah Rubenstein and Hazel Moon. She was a member of the Bayard Church of God.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda L. Cosner and husband Ronald R., Mount Storm; one daughter-in-law, Janet Harding, Mount Storm; two brothers, Fred J. Frazier and Paul O. Frazier, both of Fairmont; seven grandchildren, Lisa Cosner, Bayard, Tina Ferry and husband William �Bill� Jr., Oakland, Rebecca Wilt and husband Rick, Oakland, Elizabeth McRobie and Crystal McRobie, both of Bayard, Robert Harding and Ricky Harding, both of Mount Storm; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, 32 S. Second St., Oakland, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Born August 25, 1918 in Maysville, WV, she was a daughter of the late Isador and Mary (Bosley)Gillaspie. He was preceded in death by her husband, John Emmitt Hottle; and one son, Billy Hottle.

She is survived by two sons, Marshall Hottle, Elk Garden, and Donald Hottle, St. George; three daughters, Margaret Paugh, Pasadena, Maryland, Donna Hanlin, Elk Garden, and Debbie Padgett, Indian Head, Maryland; one brother Calvin Gillaspie, Burlington; two sisters, Eula Carr, Purgittsville, and Nina Rice, Winchester, Virginia; nine grandchildren; one step-grandson; six great grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Saturday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, Maryland.

Evelyn Mary Hendrickson, 84, Petersburg, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001 at the Hampshire Center in Romney.

Mrs. Hendrickson was born March 9, 1916 in Ruddle and was a daughter of the late Jared Smith and Ida Waggy Smith.

She retired as a cook at Grant Memorial Hospital in 1990 and was a member of the Memorial Church of the Brethren. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Eastern Star, American Legion Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary.

Her husband, Henry Ellsworth Hendrickson, died Feb. 7. 1997.

Surviving are a son, Roy Hendrickson, Petersburg; two sisters, Thelma Greenhalgh, Newport News, VA, and Arlene Brisson, Richmond, VA; two brothers, Eston Smith, Upper Tract, and lacy Smith, Franklin; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Raymond and four sisters, Beulah Bible Lorraine Sites, Myrtle Bible and Edith Lambert.

The Rev. Raymer Cox conducted the funeral at 2 p.m. Monday at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg.

Memorial donations may be made to the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Company Ladies' Auxiliary, the Petersburg Easter Star or the Memorial Church of the Brethren.

Kenneth Foster Heavener, 64, of Cabins died Feb. 5, 2001, at Davis Memorial Hospital, Elkins.

Born at Cabins on March 21, 1936, he was a son of the late Asa Mason and Ella Mae Moyers Heavener.

Mr. Heavener was a laborer for Space Pipeline Construction and drove for the West Virginia Department of Highways. He was a Protestant.

Surviving are his wife, Alice "Katty" Vance; one son, Timmy Heavener of Cabins; four sisters Noralena Berg, Rosetta Berg, and Shirley Goldizen, all of Maysville, and Betty Dolly of Cabins; and six brothers, Willie Heavener and Paul Heavener, both of Dunn Loring, VA, Mason Heavener of Manassas, VA, Ernest Heavener of Keyser, Luther Heavener and Larry Heavener, both of Cabins.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Olie Heavener, and two sisters, Alice M. Sites and Mernie Brown.

Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home, Petersburg, with the Rev. Steve Landis officiating. Burial will be at the Heavener Family Cemetery at Cabins.

The family received friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Richard Stanley "Dick" Hoover, 85, Brandywine, died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at his residence.

Mr. Hoover was born Feb. 10, 1916, at Brandywine and was the son of the late Tillman Howard and Sarah Jane "Sally" Hedrick.

He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for Hott & Miller and was a member of Martin Lutheran Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Carol Ours, Petersburg; one brother, Vernon Hoover, Oldtown, MD; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one son.

The Rev. Dana Holter conducted the funeral at 1 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery at Brandywine.

Thomas William Lee Hinton Sr., 80, of Maysville, died Nov. 29,  2000at his home.

Born April 28, 1920, in Silver Spring, Md., he was the son of the late Charles William and Edna Lee (Sakers) Hinton. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Maynard Hinton and two sisters, Vivian Thomas and Laura Winfrey.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Frances (Burgess) Hinton; one son, Thomas William Lee Hinton Jr. and wife, Susan, of Laurel; one sister, Margaret Smith of Beltsville; one half sister, Gertrude Russell of Laurel; two grandchildren, Sarah E. (Hinton) DiSilvestri and husband, Joe, and David Lee Hinton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Dec. 2, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg, with interment in Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville. Military graveside services were conducted by combined veterans organizations of Grant County.

Paul Helmick 68 of St. Petersburg, Florida formerly of Maysville died Monday, June 30, 1986at a nursing home in St. Petersburg.

Born in Grant County on September 22, 1918, he was a son of the late Benjamin Helmick and Hannah (Dolly) Helmick.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Rotruck.

Surviving are two daughters, Alice Helmick, St. Petersburg, Florida, and Jaretha Burgeron, Huffman Texas; two nieces, Juanita Pennington, Scherr and Wanda Stephens, Dale City, Virginia; two nephews, Lawrence Rotruck, Antioch and Norman Rotruck, Maysville; one brother in law Ernest Rotruck, a patient at the Grant County Nursing Home; nine grandchildren and several half brothers and sisters.

Services were conducted Wednesday morning at the International Chapels of St. Petersburg, Florida.
Interment was in the Lincoln Cemetery of St. Petersburg

Tom L Hall, 76, Petersburg, died Saturday in Grant Memorial Hospital.

The son of the late George Hall and Ellen (Landes) Hall, he was born November 15, 1905 in Petersburg.

Besides his widow, Mrs. Emma (Evans) Hall, Mrs. Hall is survived by one son, Tommy E. Hall, Berkeley Springs; four daughters, Mrs. Harman Ours, Petersburg; Mrs. Eleanor Fashion, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Mrs. Margarget Bladen, New Freedom, Pa, and Mrs. Betty Good, Winchester, Va.; a half sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Riggleman, Ridgeley; two half brothers, Fred Hall, New Market, Va.; Charlie Hall, Three Churches' 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-gandchild.

Josiah Halterman, 83, of 213 Hughes St. Keyser, formerly of Scherr died Thursday morning December 14, 1972 at Hopemont State Hospital where he had been a patient two days.

Born in Pendleton County, he was the son of the late James and Arbeline (Simmons) Halterman, his wife Mammie (Iman) Halterman, preceded him in death.

Mr. Halterman, a retired farmer had served for 40 years as a Justice of the Peace in 'grant County and a member of the Church of the Brethren. 

Surviving are one son, Vernon Halterman of Detroit, one sister, Etta Boswell of Keyser, three brothers, Charles Halterman of Luke, Garland Halterman of Scherr, and O. Halterman of Lahmansville.  T__ grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday afternoon at the Rotruck Funeral Home.  Rev. Kenney Long, Pastor of the Keyser Church of the Brethren.  Interment was in the Lahmansville Cemetery.

Herbert R. Hanlin, 93, of Mt. Storm, died Saturday, Sept.22, 1984 at Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas.

Born May 23, 1891 in Grant County, he was a son of the late Joseph M. Hanlin and Sarah (Cosner) Hanlin. He was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.

Surviving are his wife, Alma (Cosner) Hanlin; two sons, Haven Hanlin, Petersburg, and Rosten Hanlin, Stafford, Va.; two daughters, Mary Smith, Winchester, Va., and Marie Dolly, Mt. Storm; one sister, Lelia McAfoose, Waynesburg, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Schaeffer Funeral Home Chapel Monday afternoon with the Rev. Wesley Georg officiating. Interment was in Mt. Storm Cemetery.

Martin Richard Hanlin, 69, of 340 Grand Ave., Keyser, died Monday, July 30, 1984 at his residence.

Mr. Hanlin was retired after 30 years of service with the U.S. government and had served on a special U.S. Congressional advisory board.

Born in Gormania June 6, 1915, he was a son of the late Obed A. Hanlin and Luverna (Steyer) Hanlin.

Mr. Hanlin was a graduate of Bayard High School and West Virginia University. He served in the Army in World War II and the Korean conflict, and was a member and elder of the Keyser Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his widow, the former Elizabeth Parker; one daughter, Miss Ellen Parker Hanlin, Wilmington, Del.; one brother, Wallace Hanlin, Mt. Storm.      The body was cremated.

A memorial service will be conducted today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at the Rotruck Funeral Home by the Rev. J. Andrew Gullick.
