2001-05-19 Whew, I've been neglecting this site far too long now. I'm trying to finish my exam and get myself a real job (but not a haircut - yet!). Keep your fingers crossed! Anyways... Minstrel has told me that Nina Persson has confirmed to 'Nöjesguiden' that a single from "A Camp" - her and Niclas' project together - is going to be released in june/juli. The full album will be released in August.
2000-09-01 Andreas & Niclas have produced a CD with the swedish gospel-singer (at least she sings gospel nowadays) Carola Häggkvist. They appeared on her show at Hotell Tylösand on the 5th of July this summer (but that has been on Jespers page since then). After that things have been pretty quiet, but on the other hand I've been so busy I haven't had the time to catch up, so that might be the problem. Sorry about that. Anyways, I recorded a couple of songs about a year ago, and I've finally put them up on mp3.com, so if you feel like it, go listen to them or download them or whatever. But that has nothing to do with Atomic Swing of course. Keep on rocking out there!
2000-05-14 Check out a Sweet Chariots homepage made by Jesper Wilfing! It's not done yet, but he has pictures from their performance at 'Sen kväll med Luuk' (Late night with Luuk) and their interview on ZTV. He's promising audio-clips from the shows, sounds very interesting. Only in swedish yet (as far as I could see).
2000-05-14 Do you know who wrote the tune for the swedish directory enquiry service? Yes, the correct answer is Niclas Frisk. "118-118, the number to almost everything and everyone."
2000-04-06 I finally got "Beat based.." and it's just brilliant!
2000-03-29 The album is out, and Per Bjurman at Aftonbladet writes: "This is great swedish gospel."... "This is great music, unlike any other I can remember hearing on a swedish album" Mieko has found a site selling it, http://www.hotstuff.se, and they deliver all over the world! Oh, and did you know it was Niclas who wrote the commercial jingle for the directory enquiry service here in Sweden? Neither did I. Thanks to the guy tipping me, I can't remember his name and since I had a recent format he disappeared with it. Thanks anyway! I hope there will be a tour and some tour-dates out soon...
2000-03-13 Interview with Andreas & Niclas in Dagens Nyheter 2000-03-13. The album, "Beat based/song centered/spirit led" is arriving 2000-03-27.
2000-02-04 I finally received "Cry no more..:" and it's really great! The guys appeared in TV yesterday playing it live, not playback (which was great) and it was neat. I think the sounds was a little flat though... I hope the album will arrive really soon, someone said it was going to be released in March. Anyways, I'm happy.
2000-01-12 Sweet Chariots first single, "Cry no more tears", has been released! It got great critic in Aftonbladet 01-11, Per Bjurman says it's the best thing he's heard as a debut from any band since 'Soundtrack of our lives'. They're playing it on P3 here in Sweden and I'm going to check the record-store first thing tomorrow. Right now I have an exam to study for... Thanks to Niklas N, once again...:o)
991206 Woah, it's been a slow month on the Atomic-Kooks-Sweet Chariots-front, but I got some pictures of the Kooks by Niklas N, right in the pictures-section. Also added a bunch of irritating Xmas-animations, those of the kind that take up lots of unnecessary bandwith and make the pages take 20 times longer to load, just for the heck of it. I promise that they will be gone as soon as Xmas is over. So, a Merry Christmas to everyone (and not to forget, happy new Millennium as you've probably seen on TV and read about in the newspapers the last 12 months.... I'm thinking of going to a moslem country over the New Year-holidays... ;o)
991030 I finally found the article in Aftonbladet about old Popsicle and Sweet Chariots. Thanks everyone who told me! Andreas & Niclas already have 15 songs ready, and it sounds like a mix of Popsicle and Atomic Swing. They are counting on releasing it next year, says Andreas.
990924 The newspaper 'ArbetetNyheterna' says "A Camp" was planned to be released this autumn, but everything is postponed since Nina Persson is going to have her vocal cords operated, and has to be silent 2 months thereafter. Thanks again, Niklas N.
I've listened to 'Too Much Is Not Enough' a couple of times, and I must say it's an okay album. I don't think there is any really lousy song on the album, not a lot of really 'hit-songs' either. It has soul and integrity though, and I think it will probably grow after a few more rounds in my cd-player. I'd give it a 7 or 8 out of ten and say that we'll probably hear more of The Kooks in the future. That was my opinion.
990918 Whew, long time since I did any updates. The Kooks have released their album 'Too Much Is Not Enough' which hasn't been embraced by the critics, but not gotten bad critic either (Swedish review here). Me and my english colleague Mark have ordered the album and you will hopefully get our opinions very soon, if that would be of any interest to you. Listen yourself, read facts about the guys and much more on their homepage. (Thanks again, Mieko!)
The Kooky guys are out on a kooky tour. They're playing the streetcorners of the cities of Sweden, and things like that, unadvertised and very low-budget. They were actually around my neighbourhood some time ago, but since there weren't any advertising I missed the event. Otherwise I would definitely have been there with the camera. It would have been really cool to see them like that. Darn...
I haven't heard anything about Niclas lately, I slipped him a mail a month ago, but I suppose he is probably very busy right now. I hope we'll get some news about his work really soon.
I've noticed people are having problems finding Atomic Swing cd:s. Boxman claim to have them in stock, but I'm not sure if they really have them. It could be an idea to check out http://www.boxman.com anyway, at least if you live in Europe. I'd really appreciate it if I could get some feedback from people trying to order from them, so people can find out if they really have them or not. Swedes can also have a look at http://www.ginza.se.
Also added a link to a page with a lot of photos of Swedish pop-bands. The Kooks are there too. That's all for this time.
990804 'Perssons Pack' are together again (The band Niclas was in before Atomic)! They are going to make some shows this summer and a new album this autumn. Guess who is behind the guitar? Mr Frisk of course. Read more here.
990718 Niklas N. was kind enough to send me 2 pics of The Kooks, taken at a gig in Lund in december last year. You'll find them at the pictures-section. Thanks a lot, Niklas!
990706 The Kooks are going to release their full album in August. I'm not sure if it was the 24th or the 12th, but it was in August.
990618 Article in Expressen about Niclas' and Nina Persson's project 'A Camp'. It appears as if they have already recorded an album that is just waiting for the right time to be released. They were even kind enough to link the page. I love you guys! Sorry for being so lazy with the updates but I just haven't had anything to write (and I've been busy with other things, recording f.ex. If you for some strange reason would like to hear a part of my latest creation, click here).
990427 Mrs Kashiwabara has finally finished her Atomic-page, 'From Venus to Atomic', which is a true work of art (in difference of this page). It has a lot of pictures and reports from their tours in Japan, things you never got to see here in Sweden at the time. Check it out, now!
990417 A BBS is up, let's see if it can be of any interest. I apologize for the layout, the page looks horrible, and I'm fully aware of that.
990413 Niclas has spoken! It's right here.

990316 I've been hunting around for the song in the Rocky-commercial they're running over here. It's definitely Niclas singing, I haven't heard it before, and the part they're playing is absolutely fantastic. If this is the Sweet Chariots and the rest of the songs are half as good we have something to look forward to. Unfortunately, I haven't found it anywhere and noone has a clue about Sweet Chariots either. I guess it's just to wait and see. As usual. Mumble... There's going to be another website opening soon, with a section about their Japanese tour, and I'm really looking forward to see it. BTW, here's something to check out. Niclas and Nina Persson in Skåningarna.
990217 It's getting better and better, more and more people. Unfortunately I don't have anything new to come up with :o(. I've noticed people are asking for guitar-tabs, and I can't find any myself. So if you know where to find any, please mail me. I've been thinking of making tabs myself but just don't have the time for it. Oh, and I got confirmed that it actually is Niclas sending the mails. It's a long story and I'm not sure I would convince anyone out there by telling how, but it was nice to know for myself. Thanks Anna! As soon as I get to know anything you know it'll be here!
990203 Thanks to Mieko Kashiwabara for sending me the lyrics to 'Bossanova Swap Meet' who were nowhere to be found around here but included in the Japanese version of the cd. She also said Micke and Niclas' birthdays are the 14th of Februari. Niclas is becoming 30. I become happy every time I view the guestbook and someone has written a note or two. I don't have that many visitors but the people who come here are apparently the people I want here so I'm not going to advertise with linkexchange or anything. I'm happy the way it is and that this doesn't seem to be a passing phenomenon. Thanks everyone out there! BTW, I got a mail long time ago from someone claiming that the material for 'Sweet Chariots' was absolutely amazing. I'm sure it is and still waiting impatiently.
981215 Translated an interview with 'The Kooks'. Check out the interview-section.
981214 The master has spoken! I got a mail from the guru himself, Niclas Frisk. He confirms that he has his own project, called 'Sweet Chariots', and they are recording this spring. I guess it's only to wait, buy and listen, folks. I guarantee I'll be in the record-store the day it's released.
981212 Added some pics, finally got the scanner working. They sent me the correct cable after 6 weeks...
981105 Another interview added. :o)
981030 I got a mail from 'Niclas Frisk', the email-adress looking very likely to be his (I sent a reply and the adress exists!). It simply says "Hello. Niclas Frisk has nothing to do with 'the Kooks'". Was it Niclas Frisk himself? I don't know, but the person behind that adress seems to know something about it. I guess I should mention that I read in the papers that he was involved with 'The Kooks' but I cannot guarantee the truth in it. It's also possible I misunderstood it. Anyways; somebody might be pulling my leg, or this might actually be interesting.
981025 Found in Aftonbladet: Niclas has produced a song for a cd called 'For Amnesty' which is a tribute to (yes you're right) Amnesty International on its 50 year anniversary from the swedish music-industry . The album got good critic in Aftonbladet, and Niclas tribute to it was producing one of the songs, sung by the Titiyo and Lisa Nilsson. The song was a gospel-version of Sam Cookes 'A change is gonna come' and Aftonbladet's critic was praising it. Also read Niclas is working on his own project called 'Sweet Chariot' which is also supposed to be a soul/gospel-thing(!). I'll have to look that up a little further to know more exactly what it was all about. It sounds very interesting and I can't wait 'til its down in the recordstore.
