| Everything that could go wrong did go wrong in this match. Celtic only had one substitute for this game which was not sufficient on a hot and humid Thursday evening against the strong Carmen team who definitely had the �home field� advantage on a pitch that was wider than the professional pitch of Old Trafford in Manchester England with ruts for lines so the ball wouldn�t even go out of play. Despite the strange square pitch the lack of subs and loss of players was a death blow for Celtic. We did manage to score but unfortunately it was on our own net. We will work for a better result in our next match against Carmen here in Winnipeg on August 9 at our home field. |

| Celtic was victorious with an 8-2 win over Lightning on June 4 at John Blumberg. In winning the toss, Celtic was able to have the wind and dominated the 1st half with goals coming from Tammy Rivard, Laura Robinson, Rina Giancola, Susie Pilz, Lianna Merner and Annemiek Willemze who scored 2 goals. Against the wind in the 2nd half our only goal came from Norie Olynyk although we certainly had our chances and were a little unlucky not to get another goal or two. We now stand at 14 goals for and 6 against with a plus of 8 goals and 9 points. As always, team play got us this great result! |

| Monday, June 4 |
| On the hottest night yet Celtic grounded Flygirls with a 13 � 3 victory. Rina Giancola put the bulge in the old onion bag 8 times to set what we believe to be the record for most goals in one game for our club. Lori Bodner scored one, Susie Pilz scored 1 and Annemiek Willemze scored 3 for her first hat trick ever. Virtually unmarked all game Rina was able to cut in to score goals from magnificent crosses from Norie, Susie, Laura, Heidi, Lori and Tammy. Tammy got deep many times to cross the ball into the 18 yard box and this was terrific team play. Tannis Scerbo played in goal for the 2nd half allowing Lisa Sansregret to take to the pitch as an out player for the first time this season. Our back played well with Andrea, Jen, Suzanne, Tannis and Lisa S and Lisa Rivard as well as Heidi who started in the back but moved to midfield. As Lori would say �We Rocked.� |
