The Gear Page
Here's my Home studio
I thought I'd add this page to my website because recording has been my newest interest in the music world. It truely is an an art form. Though I've been recording for quite a few years I am a student. Now with digital procedures,  this art is more technical than ever. I recently have expanded into the world of digital mastering and have learned why people pay to have this done. Aside from using my recording gear for song writing, I have used it for full length records and live rehearsal  recordings. My first project was the 6 song Carbide CD 'Product of the Real World'. The performances and tracks were outstanding. These songs really deserved a professional recording. So we made due with what we had and completed the project. The mix could have been better and the mastering was weak. I am remastering these songs after I complete the 98 Carbide recordings, which I have completed mixing these 98 Carbide tracks recently and it is being mastered at this time. These 98 recordings were my 2nd project I produced, my 3rd project was a 4 song demo Distant recorded. This projest had too many hands in the pot. We released it unmastered and it sounds it. My most recent production was the full length Distant CD 'The Fall'. It really took alot out of all of us. I can say I was pleased with the end result. By this time I had aquired alot more effects and stuff, mostly improving with good studio monitors and power amp. All in all it has been a learning experience, getting better with hands on. I once heard someone say, 'to make the money in this music business is to not be the one performing'. I have no reason to doubt this.
