Being True To One's Self
Rhajamanthus sat quietly, his paws crossed before him, his eyes open and blankly staring into the distance. He did not need to see the world to know that it was all around him - his ears heard the noises of life, his nose scented the smell of activity and abundance. He could feel, beneath the pads of his paws, dark earth, soft green grass, crystalline blue water. It was enough, yes, to simply know.
Reclining against the stone of the cement wall, Rhaja was content to listen to the traffic pass by. The humans could go about their business, as long as they didn't get in the way of him going about his. He was almost like an Amuni in that way, among others, shameful as it was for him to admit. He couldn't help but act ... gentle, no matter whose company he found himself in. It was hard for him to lie, and even harder for him to walk up to someone and just hurt them. He had never seen the logic in killing his own kind.
Perhaps this behavior was frowned upon, but nothing, no force in the world, could stop Rhaja from being who he was. It was how he was born, and how he would die.
