The life of Sir John Danvers
c.1588? - 1655

Signing the Death Warrant of Charles I
Sir John Danvers was one of the regicides who signed Charles I's death-warrant in 1649. "Although Danvers was a long-time courtier, he was often disaffected". Summers surmises that "the year 1624 seems to mark the beginning of Sir John Danvers's hostility to the Crown".
