Gary Liney, Ph.D., is a lecturer
in Medical Physics at the University of
Hull. Based in the Yorkshire
Cancer Research Centre For Magnetic Resonance Investigations he specialises
in MR imaging and spectroscopy
investigations of cancer in the human prostate and head and neck.
Gary was born in Doncaster, Yorkshire, and he is a life-long supporter of Doncaster Rovers Football Club. It was whilst cycling the Coast-To-Coast route from Southport, Merseyside/Lancs., to Hornsea, East Yorks., in July 2005 that Gary first had the idea of cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats in aid of charity. |

Roberto Garcia Alvarez, M.Phys.,
is a post-graduate research assistant at the Yorkshire
Cancer Research Centre For Magnetic Resonance Investigations.
He is currently completing his Ph.D. research degree in using MR
spectroscopy and fMRI for radiotherapy planning.
Roberto was born on the island of Tenerife (Spain), he is a fan of salsa dancing and is learning to play classical guitar. It was whilst cycling around Holland on a tandem with a friend in August 2005 that Roberto came to enjoy cycling and decided to join Gary in his ambitious plans for a journey from End2enD. |
