Mercury is the closest planet to the sun and the eighth largest planet in our solar system. There has only ever been one spacecraft to have visited this planet but unfortunatly the pictures it had taken could not be used as they were ruined by the sun. Mercury has also been notifed as having traces of water on it's northern pole. With the aid of binoculars or sometimes with the naked eye, Mercury can be seen as a bright light in the sky, and sometimes can even be seen during daylight.
