this movie was talked about and talked about. it was marketed as a over the top horror fest with loads of blood and tons of thrills. "Peter Jackson"(Dead Alive, Bad taste) said that "Horror fans have been waiting for a movie like this" well bro i am a huge horror fan and when i walked it to see this what i saw was a bloody comedy with a bunch of teens spitting out one liners and dying brutal deaths. dont get me wrong fellow fiends, i love me a good horror comedy but when i saw the previews for this film i walked in expecting a horrifying slaghter fest. now i was satisfied on some notes. i loved the blood and gore. the movie was Disgusting! and over the top. that was wonderful to me. i also loved the nudity and even started feeling for the characters. it reminded me so much of Evil dead and brought back so many fond memories. but in evil dead we get some comedy mixed with a lot of gore mixed with utter horror. in cabin fever we get comedy mixed with a lot of gore mixed with more comedy. dont get me wrong i laghed a few times but after a while it got old. imean if you trapped in the woods with a flesh eating virus there isnt a lot of time to be funny.i walked out very dissapointed but i did have some fun. thats why i still gave it a decent score. because if your not a huge horror fan and you didnt have the expectations i did than i think you will have a lot of fun. but horror fiends beware "THIS IS NOT A HORROR FILM, IT IS A HORROR/COMEDY!"
Gore: we get our share of bloody moments including a split open dog, a futted pig, screwdriver in the ear, some nasty bites, lots of stabbings, grosse rashes and infected skin. chewed off foot.and my favorite is when the guy is fingering the girl and he pulls his hand up and has blood all over it.
Nudity: Its boys night out! we get both leading actresses tits and mucho sex scenes, including one where a chick sticks her finger up a guys ass to make him come.
Pace: very speedy when it comes to this, we get to jump roght in to the characters
Scary: if they wouldnt have wattered it down so much with stupid humor and would have remembered there making a horror movie, this film would have had great potential to be terrifying. but we still get a few moments that made me jump and some suspence.
Story: a lot of reference goes to evil dead here. it is basically the same story but with a virus instead of demons.
Overall i had some fun and laghed a lot which sort of brought its score down, i went to see a horror film not a comedy. i dont have anything against horror comedies just dont market the film as a terrifying experience when its nothing more than a gory laghfest.
