Garn Youth travelled to Caldicot for a top of the table clash. The first half saw both sides make ball handling errors due to early nerves and the half finished scoreless.

After the interval Garn forwards came out showing good determination gaining good ball for the backs to work with.
Outside Centre Dan Davies recieved good ball and made a strong break upfield only to be caught short of the Caldicot line but quick thinking saw him pop the ball up allowing Clayton Gullis to score under the posts. Gullis converted his try to give the Garn a 7-0 lead.
This seemed to bring the game to life and Caldicot responded straight away with a try of their own to peg back to 7-5. A penalty saw the home side go into a 8-7 lead. In the final ten minutes the Garn upped the tempo and a strong run from full back Mike Baker saw him score under the posts to secure a very good win for the Garn.
Gareth Rosser, Adam Davies played well upfront and Dan Davies and Mike Baker excelled in the backs.
Next week the Garn face another tough battle when they take on Cwmbran at home.
Coaches Leighton and Georgie will be looking for another solid performance in what should be another tight battle like the previous meeting at Cwmbran. Garn will be looking to do the double after their excellent win in the previous meeting between the two sides. Good Luck Boys
