Sorry y'all, haven't updated in more than a week. Geocities was giving me some trouble, and I couldn't save anything I wrote. What I wrote after Game 5 never made it through. Bah. It seems to be back to normal now. Whatever. Sadly, despite their valiant effort, the Timberwolves lost the series 4-2 to the Lakers on Thursday: Their seventh consecutive first round exit. Seven friggin' years, man...crap. This is very, very frustrating for the players, for the coaching staff, for Flip, for management, for the fans -- and most of all, for Kevin Garnett himself. Garnett was a picture of disappointment Thursday night (early Friday morning in the East), a very, very disappointed Kevin Garnett. The same face every year for the past seven seasons. But we played so hard in this series, but just couldn't pull it out. KG played his heart out, but the Lakers were hitting on all cylinders. Kobe ripped us at the start of the fourth quarter...on assorted dunks and jumpers. Shaq was also on top of his game. In the words of KG, "Damn, damn, damn, damn...." But here's what I gotta say to KG and the T-Wolves: Thanks for a truly memorable season. I hope to see y'all back in October.

Oh my goodness. I'm all smiles today, man. All smiles. Any Timberwolves fan who saw last night's game would be smilin' too. 2-1 baby! What a game. What a win. What a gutsy, passionate performance by the Minnesota Timberwolves. I must say, that was probably the most tension-filled game for me personally. It was thrilling because of its importance; it was inspirational because the Wolves showed heart; it was exhilarating because we won; but it was frustrating because of everything that went against us. The officials in that game did an atrocious job, almost as if they were helping the Lakers win. There were a couple of absolutely wack calls in the 4th quarter and overtime: 1)Three fouls on KG in three minutes? Those morons; 2)Wally was tugged and bumped all the way to the sideline. Where's the foul call? Idiots; 3)Wally did not touch Kobe on that three-point attempt; 3)Garnett did not foul Horry -- Horry clearly flopped; 4)There was absolutely no contact between Wally and Pargo on Pargo's layup attempt 5)How many lane violations are you gonna call on the Wolves? Or, let me rephrase that -- how many extra freethrows are you gonna give Shaq? The officiating in that game was just disgusting. But you know what? The Timberwolves prevailed. They looked within themselves and dug deep. When KG fouled out (ahem, when Horry flopped), nobody got deflated. That showed me something. Garnett was the heart and soul of this team. But just because he was out of the game, didn't mean we could not beat the Lakers. We came too far, fought too long, and played too hard to let the game slip away. Troy, Anthony, Marc, Gary were phenomenal in OT. Troy was awesome, handling the ball and making all his freethrows down the stretch. Anthony gave us a huge lift with two key buckets and a couple of crucial rebounds. Marc hit some big-time freethrows to keep the Lakers at bay. And Gary drew that vital foul on Kobe, and made both freethrows to give us the lead for good. All this with KG on the bench (or rather, on his knees by the bench waving a towel). Wow. Game Four is on Sunday. If we can pull it out, we would lead 3-1, and we can close out the series at home. But let's take it one game at a time. No matter what happens, though, I'm very, very proud of the team. And I can't say that enough.

Okay, interesting thing. Game Two isn't on TV for me. This is what happens when you live in T-Dot: It's a hockey town no matter how you look at it. Hoops always takes a back seat in Canada...bah. Well technically, the game is on RaptorsTV, but I don't have it (...why don't I have it?). TSN televised the Bucks-Nets game (by the way, yay for the Bucks!), but chose not to carry TNT's second game. Dammit. So what's a hoops fan to do? Sit in front of the computer and head on over to NBA.COM. I'm following the game very closely. As I'm writing this, the Timberwolves are up 76-56 against the Lakers with 3:42 left in the third quarter!! We're shooting a blistering 63.6%, and right now KG has 25pts, 15reb, 4ast, 1blk, 2stl. Troy Hudson is playing his heart out - man, I love what that boy has brought to this team. Oh I bet it's pandemonium in the Target Center right now, and I can almost hear the deafening roar of the crowd. I'm kinda sad that I can't see this happening on TV, but hey man, all that matters is we win. Doesn't matter if I'm watching on TV, listening to radio, waiting for the stat-page to reload, or reading the box score - I'm with this team no matter what. I'm with KG one way or another. That's who I roll with. C'mon guys, let's lock up Game Two and silence the critics. [Update: We got it!!! It's over!! We've knotted the series at 1-1. Yeeahhhh!! I'm so happy right now :) The final score was 119-91, and KG posted an mind-blowing 35pts (career playoff-high!), 20reb, 7ast, 1blk, 2stl in 43 minutes. Troy scored a Timberwolves-franchise playoff-high 37 points (!!!) while handing out 10 assist! WOW! Wally chipped in with 21 points of his own. But you know what? The win is what will get people talking. That's gonna turn a couple of heads. We'll make headlines tomorrow morning, that's for sure. Positive press will do us some good, give us more confidence as the series now shifts to Los Angeles. So let's pack our bags, feul our jet, and go do some damage in LA. Maybe wipe that crooked grin off Jack Nicholson's face. And to all y'all critics: Shut the hell up.]

Sun, Apr 20, 2003
Awwww damn...the Lakers did some serious damage today. They jumped all over the Timberwolves to begin the game, with two three-pointers by Fisher. They had the T-Wolves playing catch-up the rest of the way. It's not like the T-Wolves played poor basketball - they actually played quite well. But the Lakers shot the lights out. They had ten three-pointers while the T-Wolves only had one. That's a whopping 27-point difference. KG did his part, 23pts, 14reb, 7ast, 2blk, 2stl, while getting only two minutes of rest. But the combo of Kobe (39pts) and Shaq (32pts) with their inside-outside game, was just too much. This is very frustrating for Timberwolves fans, and for KG himself: he's the only player on the team who has been a part of all six first-round exits. And if we let the Lakers keep doin' that, we're gonna get bounced yet again. That's a big no-no. Today's game was very, very difficult to watch. Tough to swallow. Reminds me a lot of that Dallas garbage last year where we couldn't catch a break. Game Two is on Tuesday. Go T-Wolves. Make my headache go away.

Yeeaaahhhhhh boy! That's what I'm talkin' about!! For the first time in history, Kevin Garnett and the Minnesota Timberwolves will have homecourt advantage in the First Round of the Playoffs! They beat the Grizzlies tonight in the season finale, finishing a franchise best 51-31. With Terrell out the entire season, with Wally missing 30 games, with various injuries to multiple players, KG took this team on his back and elevate them to their greatest season ever. I'm damn proud of this team. KG is my MVP. Forget Duncan. KG's the man. No question. As I'm writing this, the Blazers are playing the Clippers, and the Lakers are playing the Warriors. Depending on the outcome of those games, the Timberwolves will either face the Lakers or the Blazers...AT HOME! [Update: Oh my goodness...it's gonna be the Lakers. Ouch. But hey, hey...it's cool, it's aw'ight, we're fine. Stay cool. We didn't fight this far to get scared by the defending Champs. We still have homecourt, we still got heart, and we still got KG. Game one is scheduled on Sunday (April 20th) at 3:30pm on ABC. I say bring it. Bring on the Lakers!]

On a whole different note, tonight marks the end of Michael Jordan's stunning, legendary career. I just want to say this: Love you, man, it's been the most awesome ride. I made this for you. Thank you Mike.

Hey I'm impressed. Yup. I am. Timberwolves showed some grit last night, whipping the Blazers in Portland. Billed as a "must-win" game by Flip and KG, everyone knew what was at stake yesterday. Win, and inch that much closer to overtaking the Blazers for the 4th seed and securing homecourt advantage in the first round. Lose, and risk falling to as low as the 7th seed. That's how important that game was. Well, Gary Trent came off the bench and did some serious damage, Wally played like an All-Star, and Rasho was more than solid. And KG? How's this: 16pts, 14reb, 12ast for his league-leading sixth triple-double of the year. At one point during the game, his numbers were 10pts, 10reb, 10ast - the bare triple-double minimum, which looked really funny. Now that the T-Wolves have the the 3-1 tie-breaker against the Blazers, things should be lookin' up. We have a much more forgiving schedule to close the season than the Blazers, who have to deal with the Rockets, Spurs, Lakers, and Suns. The toughest team we have to wrestle with is the Sonics, and that should not be a problem. So...the road to the Playoffs looks promising. Don't screw this up, Woofies...

Wed, Apr 2, 2003
Ah, there ya go. T-Wolves took out the Sonics tonight. KG registered 20pts, 9reb, 7ast, 2blk, 1stl, just missing a double-double. But a win's a win, stats don't matter. I updated some sections of my site today, just because I felt like it. The lack of updates recently is due to my having so little time, and working with pure HTML drives me up the wall. Plus, using Geocities is like being in a straitjacket, limited space, limited everything. But hey it's free, and it gives me a little outlet to pay tribute to KG and jot down my thoughts. Sometimes I wonder how many people are actually reading this. And out of the people who visit, how many are KG fans? I suppose it doesn't matter to me because I didn't make this site for the next person. I made it for me. And it's fun for me. Oooh, you know what would be mad cool? If Kevin Garnett himself had somehow stumbled onto my humble site. I think he would be real pleased :) Take care, y'all. 100.

Well, the T-Wolves are stumbling, losing three straight. That Dallas game on Sunday was painful to watch...it brought back those April 2002 memories and the frustration that came with them. KG and company are at home tonight against Ray's Sonics. And we better snap out this funk. It's important to head into the Playoffs playing well, and homecourt advantage is still within reach. Sunday's showdown against Portland will be huge. Let's see what happens.

Mon, Feb 10, 2003
WOOHOO, KG was the stars of stars last night, bring home the MVP award. Congratulations, Kevin! I must say, that was probably the best All-Star Game I've ever seen. Just...WOW. Double OT, back and forth, MJ tribute, MJ's awesome fadeaway over Marion. And then there was Garnett, dominating the 2nd overtime. He scored the game's very first points, and that set the tone. He racked up points the rest of the way on assorted jumpers, putbacks, tomahawks, and flushes - never forcing shots - it was sooooo much fun to watch! 37 points in an All-Star is flat out impressive. And the red retro jersey was nice - I'm so used to seeing him in those white/black/blue Timberwolves jerseys, but the red looked great. And the MVP trophy was huge! Did y'all see that? It's WAY better than the one Kobe got last year, which was a tiny thing compared to this. As I watched Kevin hoist that big ol' piece of hardware - I was really proud of him. It's hard to explain, but I've watched him play for so many years, and the only thing he'd won was an Olympic gold medal. But this was a personal achievement for him. And I think Garnett fans all saw something special Sunday night. I know I did.

Thurs, Feb 6, 2003
Man, I haven't updated in a while. But like always, I've been following the Timberwolves. KG and company have been playing so well - other than the heartbreaker against Dallas and the flop against Houston. We're sitting at 6th place right now...that ain't bad. But the Lakers are making a furious climb, and that's gotta have every team in the West worried. Injuries are still going around...Joe's down, and so is Rod. It's good to have Wally back, and draw some double-teams away from KG. Speaking of KG, he's got my vote for MVP so far. Some people say Duncan, T-Mac, Webber, or Kobe - but I'm going with Garnett all the way. No player in the league is more versatile and efficient than KG. Nobody. He's not just an All-Star, he's the heart and soul of this Minnesota team. Speaking of All-Star, I'm amped for this weekend. It's gonna be so much fun. Okay okay, predictions:

Rookie Challenge MVP - Amare Stoudemire
Skills Challenge Winner - Gary Payton
3Point Shootout Winner - Peja Stojakovic
Slam Dunk Champ - Desmond Mason
All-Star Game MVP - Kevin Garnett

Whoa, 11 games into the season, and we're below .500 - and that's a little disconcerting. Minnesota stands 5-6 right now, after losing to the Pacers last night. KG just missed a double double, registering 29pts, 9reb, 4ast, 4blk, 2stl. The team staged an admirable comback, or at least tried to. A loss is a loss. I'm not that worried because it's still early in the season. Hopefully, the Timberwolves can find their rhythm, and play Timberwolves basketball. By the way, Kevin is now averaging 20.5pts, 12.6reb, 5.4ast, 1.82blk, 2.0stl per game. Not to shabby, huh? I still say he needs to shoot a little more. Right now, he takes 17.1 shots a game. I think it should go up to around 20. Stay tuned.

Wassup, y'all? Man, I haven't updated in half a year. After the Timberwolves lost Game 3 in April, I sorta took some time off. But here we are, a new season, new players, new hope. Same goal, though - advance beyond that damn first round. Lots of changes this year - Sam Mitchell retired, Chauncey bolted. And many many injuries thus far. Terrell's out indefinitely. Joe's hurt. Livingston too. Felipe is out for the season. Wally's injured, though he'll be back for the opener. Man, some crazy crap goin' around or something. Well, at least Troy Hudson's a bright spot. Loren Woods is comin' along nicely, too. And then there's Kevin Garnett. That's right - Kevin Garnett. He dedicated himself during the off-season to working out. He's bulked up to around 238-242lb now, meaning it's gonna be easier for him to be more aggressive if he chooses to. It's gonna be a great season, and I look forward to it. Peace.
