After a brief hiatus, the Valediction Tandem flexed their atrophied creative muscle to remake a rough concept song "Dents" into a winner. Drummer Sam and Guitarist Larry (me) took a series of trips to local music suppliers to purchase new equipment. After much spending took place, our sound improved substantially. A real kit henceforth has been used to make our sound more authentic, and success has been found in micing the amplifier to get a better guitar tone. In other news, there has been a lineup change in Valediction, in the terms of our collective purposes. I, by default, have claimed the title of "hot one" from Gary, who henceforth will be known as the nonexistent one. However, I desire to refine my new title to simply be "el Mariachi" in an obvious allusion to my counterpart in "Desperado." Sam remains the Jewish drummer. Some things never change. A new phaser effect for my guitar seems to be next on the purchase block, as money will flow in soon due to birthdays, multiple paychecks, and selling old books to unsuspecting freshman. Valediction will continue to rock… don't you forget it.
