Born
of a sheep herder in the waning weeks of 1983, Lawrence Greenawald
was lucky to be alive more than a matter of weeks. In early December
(ironicly the same week as Gary's birth) Larry's family was caught
in a catastrophic flood in Costal Bangladesh, in which his parents
perished. Lawrence was fortunate to escape imminent doom on a wicker
raft, which traversed the great sea, Panama Canal, and ended up in
a small suburban town outside of the great city of Philadelphia. Lawrence,
who was quite glad to go by the abbreviated name of Larry, was brought
up in the main line by Edward and Irene, a IST manager at a Philadelphia
based firm and teacher/homemaker, respectively. In 1989 he moved to
the quiet shanty town of Jamison, where he met Gary, a quasi homeless
pauper boy, and hence the dream was born.
Though unknown to himself and his 5'7" lanky white boy build,
he was endowed by near superhuman guitar prowess that was discovered
after his dabbling in the piano and the violin. This man child's love
for the instrument grew fonder as his passion for music waxed almost
exponentially, as did his talent. He took lessons from a professional
musician for four years until the gods saw his increasing talent as
a threat to their own security, and caused a tragic accident to put
him out of commission for 3 months due to a broken left arm. However,
Larry's passion was stronger than the interests of the divine, and
Larry rebounded from the injury with even more fervor. In 11th Grade
Larry came upon a piece of mahogany struck by lightning, which he
sent instantly to ESP to be fashioned into his dream guitar. From
that point on, Larry's playing became instantly recognizable and distinctly
his own. His personal mission is a quest for musical perfection.
Larry's somewhat
uneventful high school career nonetheless landed him an appointment
at Drexel University, where he majors in Pre Medical studies with
a minor in Godship. He nonetheless aspires for nothing less than
international superstardom.
