Generally speaking, different eras have different historical backgrounds; therefore, history creates different thoughts and art styles in a particular period. The end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century was an era filled with conflicts. Because of the Industrial Revolution (1750s-1900), new knowledge and techniques were introduced into society. As the whole society changed, new thoughts were coming out, and many of ideas conflicted. With its tendency to create new thought, the art world listened to this conflict, and Art Deco emerged in this era of conflict. To understand an art style, one should start from the questions, how was it created, what is special in the style, and how is it different from another art movements?
