The blind date works out...
Despite the bum stomach, the two found that they had a lot in common. The first thing that struck Caths, for instance, was that Ganns appeared to have an intense, insane sense of humor. Ganns, on the other hand, found that Caths was a big fan of Debbie Gibson, a singer of whom Ganns was a closeted fan.
"I didn't think I'd find someone who liked Debbie as well," Caths once said, "it was nice to meet someone so genuine."
The two began seeing each other more frequently after that, with Ganns leaving little treats in Cathy's desk and she posting little notes in his locker or office table.
They also began to find out more
about the other person. Ganns recalled
that he learned Cathy liked dark
chocolate, but only the Lindt type.
Determined to make sure she had a
different dark chocolate experience,
Ganns left her a bar of Toblerone
dark chocolate. Caths was both shocked and thrilled.
"I only ate the Lindt brand," she says, "until [his] Toblerone came along."
Through the course of their relationship, Ganns has tried to satisfy her other cravings by getting her such hard-to-find goodies as M-Egg milk chocolate candies.
