Ganesh Pooja can be a very exciting festival for children when celebrated collectively with their total participation. Following set of programs have been found very successful in many places.

1) Clay Modeling of Ganapati : 

Should be done few days before the pooja Here is a sample one.

2) Ganesh Pooja where children will perform the pooja 

assisted by the parents. Meaning of each step in the pooja will be explained to children as they do the pooja. Following material will be of help. If you have any questions, please contact: [email protected]

• One main mantapam at the front (To be set up by the organizers)
  
• Chair/stool
  
• Standing/Big Lamps (deepa stambha) and a match box.
  
• Two coconuts
  
• Beetle leaves and Supaari
  
• Agarbathi, camphor
  
• Cotton wick (batti), oil and ghee
  
• Flowers, leaves
  
• gantaa (bell)
  
• cotton sheets to spread
  
• haldi, kumkum and akshata
  
• panchaamrita (honey+milk+ghee+curds+sugar all in one cup)
  
• Lord Ganapathi's pratima (Idol and/or big framed photo)
  
• Plantain leaf (if available. a plate will do too) and rice for installing Lord's pratima.
  
• At least one garland of flowers
  
• metallic glasses for arghya-paatra & kalasha-paatra
  
• A couple of small metallic plates for doing aarati, naivedya, etc.
  
• Sweets and other items for naivedya
  
• Some money

• One plate (preferably a metallic one) and some rice (2-3 cups)
  
• one coconut or 2 bananas
