Because of the belief that through association and establishment of a characterized brotherhood and sisterhood, good will can be attained, a group of young people pioneered an organization based on such belief. All through contemplation with great depth and foresight, they considered and recognized by the world, as an organization is grand union of peace-loving people as well as rendezvous of talents and intelligence. With God's will, the commitment of the group is endowed in each member either through the aim of growing with a great sense of responsibility, love for fellow brothers and sisters, a feeling of maturity and such readiness to enter the portals of grandeur and reality.
Taken from as French term, Au Fait, in which the organization unanimously chooses for a name to mean full competence and social correctness. Au fait is a name for a challenge for each member to be correctness. A \u Fait is a name for a challenge for each member to be with, a challenge that would possibly linger into their every hearts and souls, a challenge that illuminates the dark side of the truth, a challenge that is going to live with Au Fait Society as long as it exists.
Au Fait Society is founded by two dashing youngsters by two dashing youngsters, Marianito “Nhito” Alveniz, who came from Southern, Leyte and Jean Edward “Jed” Manalo from Ghana , Africa . It was merely an accident by the time the Au Fait Society was planned to be formed. When these two youngsters was a degrading idealism of the present society and the local campus vulnerability to the vultures of exploitative emblems, they realized the need for such group as Au Fait Society to be formed and organized. So by the evening of Thursday, August 4, 1988 , they discussed the necessities of one organization for the upliftment of the rapid society so that starting at the very bottom of it might imply every possible correction. So by then, they made it official that a group is organized and surging hope is breaking right at the very foundation of the Au Fait Society.
Recruiting members is one easy thing if the coast is clear, that is if an organization's purpose and objectives are true, sensible and has an aim for service, justice, liberty, and quality are the basis of its formation.” Because those things are present in Au Fait Society and because it is an organization, which manifests a great influence over the truth, eager members came pouring until the founders decided to fully acknowledged them. Their first meeting at he Hibbard Hall Room I at 4:00 on Saturday, August 20 1988 , barely sixteen days after the organization was founded first acquainted the members with each other. A marginal number of attendance's came and it became a necessity to enlist deserving and fully committed members into the society. Above all, it could not be called modesty to have thirty (30) pioneers, for a start.
The demand of being more acquainted and with the great enthusiasm to establish a great name for true brotherhood and sisterhood, the organization did not die a natural death but it grew into an eager foundation. The pioneers set their second meeting with the vivacious cruise thus hoping Silliman University Hibbard Hall Room I at 10:00-12:00am on Thursday, August 25, 1988 again. Five days for an interval of two meetings is a manifestation of commitment.
And such commitment was then forged into brushing and cutting the monotonous ambience of living a dull life by having its first acquaintance party at Bacong, Negros Oriental on Sunday, September 18, 1988 . Hold aloft by the essence of belongingness and erupting purposive ness, the success of the party made the pioneers more planted into the brotherhood and sisterhood as an achievement.
Taking into consideration that any group crumbles without a leader, the organization set its first election on the 21st of September 1988 to unify the Au Fait Society. As a result, the first over-all chairman was Ray Visitacion. Nhito Alveniz was the first fraternity chairman and Isabella Perez as the first sorority chairwoman.
Au Fait Society, which can also be referred as Delta Phi Omega Fraternity/Sorority, is already set to have its first boom. With great aim for moral indulgence which includes all the elemental figures of greatness and reliability, it is in the waves if ambivalence with only one side to take. Every turning probes are its food for glory, in the course of its existence, it is aimed to indulgence for as long as there is brotherhood and sisterhood in the group, it will always be a guideline for the element of the society and to the most indelible and ambiguous exploitations of the opportunistic and corrupt environment. For as long as there is understanding in each member, it will always denounce grudges. For as long as there is service in the group, it will always lead in every social contest. For as long as the inculcation of the principles of justice, liberty and equality is done, it will always be fair. And for as long as there is trust in the Almighty, the group will never fail.
