| The series of three pictures shown below are of one of several High Speed runs I did on the raised track. The left hand picture gives an idea of the length of the back straight after pulling out of the Island Halt station through the first bend. The right hand picture is of the bend at the end of the back straight. On two occasions, once on my own and once with Ian as a passenger, I attempted to open up the throttle to see how fast the Trojan would go. In both cases I reached the bend, shown in the right hand picture, before I had finished opening up the throttle. Im not sure how fast we went, but it felt very quick, and as expected the Trojan ran like a dream, which is testament to the quality of the Trojan design. The High Speed runs also confirmed that the method I had chosen to attach the running gear to the axles appeared to have worked. |
