Friends of St Andrews Charity Event
This was a charity event to raise money for church repairs at the church where my wife and I were married.  My brother-in-law Ian was asked if he could set up a garden railway in the church grounds to provide rides to raise money.  Despite raining nearly all day we still managed to raise 85.

The picture shown on the right is the train Ian and I put together.  Of particular note is the positioning of the driving trolley at the rear of the train.  This allowed us to fully utilise our driving trolleys as the passenger trolleys, while also being able to ensure the passengers did not lean or drag their feet

A closer view of my driving trolley chassis configured to ground level running coach body.
The picture shown below left is of the set up in the churchyard with 45m of track.  As always, with safety in mind the track area had to be coned off.  The picture shown below right is of Ian (Driver/Guard) and I with a train of very excited passengers.

Although it was the first time either of us had attempted such an event, we did find that we spent many weeks of our own time preparing for the 6 hours the event ran for.  The main lessons learnt from the event was the need to find a better way of assembling the track, rather than using the standard fish plates, which added a further 3 hours to the day for assembly.  Any suggestions to overcoming this issue would be greatly appreciated (Email).
