Our company was founded in 2017. We are proud to offer our products at a fair and reasonable market value. All of our products did not harm any animals during testing.
Intent
The intent and purpose of this website is to sell golf products that are made for a particular set of golfers. By creating the site map, brand theme guidelines, and taking the time to research other ecommerce sites, I feel confident that I built an appropriate website.
Defense
My design decisions revolved around the "competition" websites and using similar but not the same approach to the layout. The brand theme was derived from know that the owner of the site is a military veteran, so that's why I picked reb, white, and blue. As far a typography, I wanted to use a simple font family and a sans serif one at that. I chose Helvetica and Arial as a backup for cross platform support. For my spacing decisions, I know I wanted to be based on a 8 point layout, so I used that as a guide.
By defining these brand guidelines, I'm able to provide a consistent user experience across my website. The end goal should be that the customer has never left my website, and that they find the most useful information in the quickest amount of time, meaning that the site is easy to use. I used a combination of multimedia and images to get the customers attention and engage them to read on to further their understanding of the products. The site is professional in the sense that there is a consistent look and feel and there are no broken links and I used proper grammar.
Opportunities
If I had more time I would have liked to explore adding in some sort of analytics framework to track how customers are using the site, and what the conversation rate is. Knowing this information makes planning updates to the site more relevant and hopefully generates more sales. I wish I could have had more assets to work with, and build out a more multimedia rich website. This most includes better video content to explain to the customer how our products compare to the competition.
