Every Weyr has to have at least some. We've tried to keep them as straightforward as possible. If you have any problems, please don't hesitate to contact the BoD.
1.)Please read at least one of the novels in the Pern series before playing.
You don't have to be an expert, but at least know what a Weyr is. We'll be happy to clear up any confusion you may have.
2.) ABSOLUTELY NO CHARACTERS FROM THE BOOKS. None at all. None even close to those in the books. Characters like this will be rejected immediately.
Repeated attempts to sneak in characters from the books will be grounds for removal from the club. Your character may not know personally or be related to Anne McCaffrey's characters. We are in the beginning Turns of the Second Pass, meaning that most canon characters haven't even been born.
3.) Benden Weyr, Benden Hold, and Ruatha Hold are not playable locations, at all, ever. This is a direct order from Anne McCaffrey. Your character may hail from one of those places, but no role-play may occur there. It would probably be more fun just to have your character come from somewhere else, so that you may actually play with his or her history.
4.) There are five, FIVE colors of Dragons available: Green, Blue, Brown, Bronze, and Gold. No other colors will be accepted or played. You may have any shade or pattern within the colors-- a midnight blue, a bright yellow gold, a bronze with greenish spots-- but keep it reasonable.
5.) The Pernese have no religion. If you want to thank something, thank
Faranth.
6.) No flaming. Don't bring in grudges from outside, and don't carry on internal grudges through the list. That's what private email is for. If you have a conflict with other players, contact the BoD and we'll help.
7.) Remember that in-character actions are not reflections of real life.
My character might decide to vow vengeance against yours, but I love you, yes I do.
8.) Candidates are in most cases between the ages of twelve and twenty-three Turns. In the case of Queen Candidates, the scale goes up to twenty-five Turns old. (For our purposes, one Turn is equals on Earth year, with thirteen lunar months in the Turn.) Keep in mind, though, that what the characters think will happen and what will happen are two entirely different things.

9.) And that brings up another matter, one that I can scarcely believe needs to be addressed. However, I've seen enough people complaining that it needs to be said, just for clarity's sake. There is homosexuality on Pern. There is homosexuality in Galicia Weyr. There is homosexuality in real life. Deal with it. You don't have to play a homosexual or bisexual character.
10.) Timing is allowed by the Out-of-Character rules. In Character, however, is a different story. Timing is dangerous, and highly discouraged by leaders.
Should your character choose to time it, expect that character to get a chewing out by his or her Weyrlingmaster, Wingsecond, Wingleader, Weyrleader, and Weyrwoman, not necessarily in that order. Only higher-ranking Riders would even know of the possibility, so anyone else would do it on accident.
11.) Our BoD is not elected. In-Character rank is not a reflection of Out-of-Character rank. We are, we like to think, nice, reasonable people. Speaking out against something we do won't get you booted, we swear. We're here to help.
12.) Galicia Weyr is rated PG-17. Content of a nature not suitable for children is not allowed. However, please put a warning, such as XXX, prominently in the title of anything containing material above PG-13 (that which a 13-year-old should not see). This includes adult language, graphic violence, and sex or strong innuendo. We're not enforcing an age limit, but don't blame us if you go blind.
12 1/2.) Some games allow you to power play other writers' characters, writing their actions and responses to your character's actions. That ain't us. You may write actions and responses for only your characters, unless you have a previous arrangement with the other writer. This means if, say, your character walks up to another, you can't say, "My character said 'Hello' and the other character turned around. You have to leave it at "My character said 'Hello' and waited for the other character's response." Even during a fight, you can't say "Steve punched Joe in the stomach." You have to say, "Steve aimed a punch at Joe's stomach," and let the other writer decide if it hits and how hard it hits. (Don't worry, most of us like seeing our characters punched, frightened, and otherwise traumatized.) This is to avoid stepping on toes, and because of the simple fact that no one knows your character reactions like you do.
13.) At one time there will be allowed 15 female blueriders and 15 male greenriders allowed in Galicia Weyr (pc).
14.) Most importantly, remember that the entire point of this game is to have fun and appreciate Anne McCaffrey's Pern. Don't let anything eclipse that.
15.) If you don't post...once a month (once a week and a main character in a storyline for Golds and Bronzes)...if you don't post we will send you an email asking if things are ok.... if you don't respond in 1 week we will then drop you from the Weyr and put your chars up for Adoption ...unless you are on LOA please tell us if you need to go LOA.
16.) New members have a month to decide about their first character and post it to the BOD file. Feel free to try out one of the NPC characters if you don�t want to create your own. If you need more time please just let us know I promise we won't bite well not to hard ;)
17.) Please remember that we the BOD are here to help you if you ever need something or help with something to do with Galicia Weyr please feel free to email or IM us. We promise we won't bite... well maybe just a little bit :) J/K
