| GOING HOME |
| We gather all together for a holiday or two, And the times we have together seem ever new. We eat and we talk, we laugh and we sing, The happiness throughout our house does ring. The days come and the days go and ever blend, Till passing of time seems it will never end. Then one day those we love will suddenly pass Into eternity and our sorrow will seem to always last. We long for those who have gone on before, We want their hugs and so very much more. But they have gone home to their place in glory, And are now happily singing the everlasting story. Of God's great love and hope for all Who dwell in His presence and on Him call. They are rejoicing and singing, healthy and strong, And ever will sing such a glorious song. And those precious memories we hold so dear, Will only be completed as to heaven we draw near. For those we have lost and those we once loved, Are now in the arms of the heavenly dove. Our gatherings once sweet by the fireplace of old, Are now but sweet memories and stories we told. But someday full circle we will all be fine, When once we cross into heavens great line. Where peace and joy and all good things dwell, And praises fill our hearts as to Christ we hail. As we enter the gates into a kind embrace, Into the arms of those who once left such an empty place. So lift up your hearts and look high above, For those dear ones are sheltered in love, God has a mansion for you and me, For us to dwell with our loved ones eternally. Death brings no fear, it only brings hope, To those who love Christ and know the full scope, Of His salvation and death and resurrection did buy, An eternal home for us far beyond the sky. So sing a song of triumph and lay aside sorrow, And lay aside troubles you like to borrow. Rejoice in the hope that the Christ child brings And let the praises through your home again ring.
