Then I got a phone call from my long time friend Joy on a rainy night in early December 2006. "Lets raise some money Owen" she said. Well if you know me thats all it takes. And so the Gala idea was borne. The Gala provides an opportunity to continue on the legacy of giving that had become part of the Halloween fundraiser. It also extends the opportunity for businesses to participate more actively. For a long time, its been my desire to raise the profile of Muscular Dystrophy Canada amongst corporate Canada works. As both the Halloween parties and the Gala prove, having fun is the best way to encourage people to participate. So if you are reading this, please consider coming. Its not inexpensive, but it s worth it. Its a whole evening of fun. The antipasta flows, the music draws you in for dancing and the decorations lift your spirits. And its a great cause.
