For We Have You by Our Side ----------------------------------------------- This was written on march 2005 which was supposed to be for our College Clinical Graduation (my friend's composition was our final choice). our clinical instructor assigned us to do our class song. I did my assignment and this was the result... It's somewhat a tribute to the people who in way or another, gave their sacrifices just for us to finally march down the aisle and receive our diplomas.. to our parents, intructors, relatives, friends, and above all, to God - to them we offer our thanksgiving... we sucessfully accomplished one goal in our life for we have them by our side.. always... Today, seemingly boundless efforts become glorious hymns As our weaving voices intertwine in wondrous singing. Golden frames of bittersweet struggles now hanging in walls, For us to contemplate on as we pass along the hall. CHORUS: You have molded us into what we are (who we are) Your efforts rolled into one – A wellspring of inspiration! Smile with us. Shed tears with us. Pat your shoulders with us. Indeed a great venture of life – For we have you by our side… Sing with us parents dear, the real heroes behind our gold. Sublime love, patience and countless chances you gently told. Encouragements to move on and find our track you gave us, When our frail footsteps wavered, strengths were lost during the past. With thankful hearts, we look back to you, our vibrant mentors. Driving forces became your challenges in full colors. Trails of paperworks, exams served as our blankets at night. But without you, second parents, college would have no light. Brothers, sisters, friends, you silently sympathized with us Wiped our sour sweats, quietly stared into our teary eyes, Promised to stay awake with us throughout those sleepless nights. Now, we thank such great grand acts as we start another plight. CODA: A noble task You have commissioned us, Oh, God! Such learning You gave us, we give back to Your people Guide us again…. |
