The following links will provide information about Spanish Lookout and the environs:

One of the above sites refers to Spanish Lookout as "unique in Belize because except   for the palm trees one might think one was in a small town in the Southern United
States. "  As a native Vermonter who has resided in Florida for many years, I fell in love   with the place because, to me, it is Vermont in the tropics... the best of all worlds.

Another site  explaind that "there are three ways into Spanish Lookout. One requires
the use of a hand cranked ferry, one is a long dirt road that goes through the
neighboring town of Bullet Tree, and one is a bridge the Mennonites built after years
of promises to build one by the government and one failed attempt. (Fell down about
half way through construction)"  The latter of these ways into Spanish Lookout
(though I love the ferry) has been upgraded to a first-class paved road, one of the
best in the region.  It is important to understand that the Mennonites build and
maintain their own infrstructure within their community of Spanish Lookout and that it is
some of the best infrastructure in Belize.  Of course, Iguana Creek benefits from their
diligence.
