Chapter Sixty Six

The great sea is the King of the hundred valley streams,
because it is at the very bottom of them all,
hence it is King.

If the Enlightened wishes to rise above men,
use words to go below them;
if he wishes to be in front of men,
use his body to be behind them.
(Heng: He rests his body on the people.)
Therefore the Enlightened is above all people
but none knows his weight,
he is in front of all people,
yet does not harm a single soul.
The whole world speaks of his good name and is not tired.

Because he does not compete,
none of the world can ever compete with him.
