| Chapter Sixty Two Within the Dao lies the secrets of all Myriad Things, the good man knows it and will treat it like treasure, the evil man knows it and will die to protect it. Fine Words can obtain true honor, Fine Acts can obtain true companionship. Even if the man is evil, the Dao has never abandon him! (Heng: He is using the Dao for his survival too.) Therefore before one becomes Emporer and install his Ministers, to use valuables in exchange for battle horses, why not first sit down and talk about this Dao. In ancient times why does everyone treasure this Dao? Not talking about desiring things and to obtain them, not talking about enforcing laws to prevent evil deeds? Because this Dao is truly the most valuable thing in the world. |
