Chapter Sixty Three

Adopt
Wu Wei to act,
does all things without doing,
experiences the blandness of experiences.

The big and small, the many and few,
[To return grievances with virtues]
face all difficulties with holistic simplicity,
face all great deeds with comprehensive details.
All difficulties under the sun will become easy to achieve,
all great deeds under the sun will be simplified into detailed plannings.

(Heng: I do not agree with the second bracketed line in the paragraph, which is clearly out of touch with this Chapter. This Chapter is telling us how to fulfill our ideals accordingly while
wu wei with the Dao...)

Hence the Enlightened never aims for the big and far away,
so he can accomplish the greatest deeds of his life.

A person who values promises will not speak much,
things too easy to accomplish are faced with difficulties.
The Enlightened treats all things as difficult,
hence he meets with no difficulties at all.
