| Chapter Sixty One A large country can be compared to the lower portion of a river, the converging point of the world, such is the female which supplies and nourishes the world. This female is tranquil and so wins over the active male, she quietly supports the male and does not overtake. Hence once the big country can get below the small country, the small country will submit; once the small country can get below the big country, the big country will submit. Therefore, bend below those that you wish submission, then they will submit willingly. The big country merely wants more satellite countries to serve under them, the small country merely want to serve the big and benefit themselves. Since both parties desire what each wants, the greatest scheme is for both to get below each other. |
