| Chapter Fifty Eight If the political administration is dull and boring, then the people is enjoying true prosperity; if the political administration needs to verify tiny details, then the people is living in great poverty. It is the lack of disaster that prosperity depends on, it is the lack of prosperity that disaster depends upon. Few men know that saturation causes its eventual Return. There is no such thing as correctness (of 'laws' and 'policies'), its saturation will cause the eventual Return of its negation, correctness will become the perverse and the wrong. Therefore the Enlightened sets the foundation but do not reinforce, correct his political actions but do not stretch them to limits, straighten his judgement but do not enforce on the masses, glows in holy grace but is not too bright to blind the eyes. (Heng: Great control will only allow the eventual Return, how many times must history repeats itself before mankind is doomed to extinction. All people including modern authorities are fooled too long by such reifications of so-called 'orthodoxies'.) |
