Studies in Anderson Junior College

Ok let's face it... I was a
rebel in JC.
I hated studying and often fell asleep in class.

My form teacher was
Mdm Phoon and she taught me chemistry. She's a really nice and understanding teacher and had her own unique way of motivating us in our studies. She's married but still pretty and young (at that time :-P), almost like a class idol and well-loved by the class. Well, she did tell me off for being lazy, but always by 'suaning' me and make jokes out of my laziness.
She was the reason why I had fair results for my chemistry.

Well, in my 'A' Levels, I got
'C' for Chemistry, 'D' for Maths D, and 'D' for Economics. Higher Chinese I flunked... got 'O' instead. Not cut out for studies eh?
JC Memories
ECAs in Anderson Junior College

Chinese Society
I joined two ECAs, the first main ECA was the
Chinese Society.
In the Society, I joined the sub-section for
Ge Yao (Singing). It was suppose to promote contemporary songs and create new songs for the club. But strangely, I was not active in it but instead involve myself in the 'Drama' sub-section of the Society frequently.

I acted in a number of major productions by the Drama Society and was also involved in the backstage crew. That was when my deep interests for appreciating drama developed and also started to know about
drama productions. My friends and I even wrote a play of our own and acted it out for everybody. It won the 'Best Production Award' in the Society's competition!

Weiqi Society
The second ECA was the
Weiqi Society, where I learned how to play the chess called Weiqi (Go) and once represented the school in a national competition. Playing Weiqi was really exciting and it was unlike any other chess that I have played before.

Although I was not officially a member, I still spent two years of my JC life playing the game all the time. If you are interested, learn more about the game by clicking:
Weiqi.
