Super Mario Bros.

Introduction
The original Super Mario Bros is the
very first video game that I have ever played. On a fateful day in 1986, my intense passion for video games began the moment I held the controller of my NES and played Super Mario Bros on TV. This game opened up a brand new dimension in my life - it sent me tumbling down into a fantasy land which soon becomes an indulgence of no return. My life changed drastically... all because of Super Mario Bros!

Special Features
Super Mario Bros is truly a
revolution in entertainment - it makes video games come alive! In the game, nobody can forgot how our hero Mario jump tirelessly around the screen kicking Koopa shells, knocking down bricks and clearing obstacles to defeat Bowser and rescue his beloved Mushroom Princess from the evil tortoise's grasp.

Spanning a total of
32 stages, Marios world is big and intense indeed. Classic enemies such as evil Mushrooms, Koopas and the notorious Hammer Brothers block Marios way but fortunately Mario has the help of Giant Mushrooms, Fiery Flowers and the invincible Stars to help him in his quest. The game also has level-warping pipelines hidden in some stages that enable players to skip levels and clear the game in a much shorter time. With all these combined, Super Mario Brothers instantly blew video gamers of the early 1980s away!

There are actually a couple of
well-hidden secrets in Super Mario Bros. For example You can also reach a 1 World if you can squeeze through the wall of the warping pipelines without revealing the Welcome words . I also know that you can get more than 100 lives by repeatedly kicking tortoise shells on the staircase (I have tried it myself). But there is still an incredible secret that has not been verified even till now. At that time, my Dad was also a fan of Mario and he bought an unofficial guidebook of the game for me (thanks Dad!). In the book, there is a rumor claiming that the game actually had a total of 365 Hidden Stages that can only be unlocked by changing cartridges repeatedly with the Nintendo Tennis! Many strange screenshots of the Hidden Stages can also be seen there. Although they looked very cool, I never had the Tennis cartridge so could not verify whether this is indeed true.
Last Word
If one game is to be nominated for making the greatest impact in the 1980s, it could only be the one and only...
