Larned EMS was established in 1975 when it was developed into its own service, breaking off from the police department. Larned EMS is a basic life support service. We currently have three transport ambulances with a first response unit which was donated to the city of Garfield. Larned EMS was housed at city hall with the ambulances housed at the fire station for several years. The current EMS building was constructed in 2000 through community and private donations which now houses the office and ambulances in one building.
Larned EMS currently employees four full-time and five part-time EMT-B's. Three of which are CPR instructors.
We also perform community programs of CPR class's, school demonstrations, community awareness. Along with emergency calls and transports to hospitals as needed. For more information on public education please contact us at the address below.
